Whelp it looks like maybe blizzard realized that the rewards for the daily quests were bad to the point of not really worth doing.
- Daily Assault Quests
- Now reward 250 Coalescing Visions (up from 50)
- War mode rewards 275 Coalescing Visions (up from 55)
- Now reward 125 reputation with their respective factions (up from 50 - 75)
- Now reward 250 Coalescing Visions (up from 50)
- Lesser Vision Daily
- Still rewards 2000 Coalescing Visions on your first complete of the week
- Now rewards 1500 Coalescing Visions for each day completed after. (up from 1000)

Yup not much on a per week basis but over time gives you more coushion for extras every couple weeks to help as stuff starts requiring more runs. The nice change was the rep boost. Before they literally gave no more rep than the event stuff that takes a minute to do. It was really questionable before the change for anybody but the most cat ass rep hunter for bothering to pick them up. The time and effort needed to do them WAY outpaced the rewards.

Yeah it's actually quite a bit more coalescing a week. If you're doing the dailies about 1k more a day, daily visions going to 1500 is another 3k a week.
You know that people that signed up to the savage warrior themed faction sure were aching for some good ole fashion democracy.

It's still trash. Will I do these on my main? No. Will I do these on at least one alt? No. Is the cloak worth doing ONCE? No. Is there anything worth doing for the next 8 months until the xpac comes out? No.
I am still befuddled out how they could devise a loot system that actively punishes 95% of the player base for not being in the top 5% of poop sockers. I mean...For Fuck's Sakes...common gear will KILL YOU unless you poop sock the cloak every week ON EVERY CHARACTER YOU HAVE. I'm sorry, but you have a character that sucks at visions? Well fuck you because we are all edgy and ROGUE LIKE. Blizz adopted a game dev mantra that died as quickly as it came. ROGUE LIKE = indie game devs from 2015 who were both stupid and broke and tried to sell the shit instead of the steak. Oh yeah? Your character that sucks at visions? Grats on your 0% weekly progress for that shit cloak they make you wear so you can do visions but can't do visions because your cloak sucks or your class has low dps or whatever. ROGUE LIKE...SO EDGY...let's wait until the patch it to make it easier...oh wait, why do it then anyway?
Ace move...on top of all the other ace moves they've done.
I have seen some genuinely stupid shit in the decades I have been gaming, but I have never ever seen a company so strenuously trying to destroy their player base as Blizz is doing with WoW.

Visions aren't roguelike. Nothing about them is random in nature whatsoever. They're the same 100% of the time, not sure what you're going on about.
But I agree it can't last a full year.

I kept hoping that some aspect of the story would make some sense, that there would be an 'ahhh' moment at the end of the expansion which gave a solid reason for what was going on.
That doesn't seem to have happened.
The 4th war (wasted as it is in a non RTS game) consists mostly of Sylvanas being a total dick and the Horde being happy to go along with the whole genocide business. This was especially weird since the Horde now includes new members who are themselves essentially Night Elves!
The whole 'we just saved the universe, let's kill each other' stuff is just so fucking dumb it breaks any suslension of disbelief. It could have maybe worked for the expansion after this as a metaphor for the descent into the Cold War following WW2, but that's not what they did.
Oh and isn't the planet still broken with a giant sword sticking out of it?

I blame Steve "Moorgard" Danuser, the "Lead Narrative Designer" for WoW. He worked on such such great games like EQ2, Kingdoms of Amalur, Copernicus, Landmark and EQ Next. Obviously a track record of games renowned for their great storytelling.

She isn't just writing the books anymore, she's writing the full setting itself. She would be given broad concepts and told to fill in the blanks. A lot of the shitty anime story garbage we've gotten is thanks to her.

The worst she does is write dialogue for cinematics that are already decided on how they're being shot, I still can't really blame her specifically.
Blizzard has always been cheesy as fuck in their stories though, I think it's something they should either stick to or let actual writers and not people working on videogames be the writers. Not go back and forth constantly lol
