I don't know when the last time you've wandered out of your basement was, but the world out there is currently a scary place. Most things are basically shut down.

You can start your own WoW levelling/dungeon running service. You can then be productive while wasting away your youth. You can even build a cubicle around your desk so it more closely resembles corporate life.

There's free time and then there's the life destroying commitment of full time WoW, I know because I did it.

Saying "there's nothing to do, may as well gear up and theorycraft with Mist" tells me that it's more on the life destroying side.

I'm building my own website/software buisness in the time I could be spending on WoW. Get a hobby that actually impresses people (eg music, gym), spend time with family or learn something productive.

Why not do both? Or everything.

It is possible to play these games and not make it a full time job. The problems only start when you try to keep up with the poop sockers.

If you play for a month to catch up with new content then unsub, sure. If you play it all year round then it's eroding your soul.

I'm scratching my gamer itch playing the occasional 20 min time limit chess game online, can do it laying down on the sofa next to my wife.

Also Chess is still nerdy but can impress some people. WoW makes you look like a manchild outcast from society.

So, in order to use Pawn properly, you need to sim your own stat weights, as for most every spec, they change substantially depending on gear, azurite, and essences. I much prefer Raidbots (over AskMrRobot) for this, as they use the weekly simcraft (or nightly, if you want) builds.

If you want to fine tune it, you can change how long the fight lasts, as well as how many bosses for sustained AoE VS. Single target. I always use 2 weight sets per spec.

To use Pawn in conjunction with RaidBots, all you need to do is run sim weights on the webpage, then copy the pawn string, they list, over into the game.

Here are your weights (if this is actually your toon):

AoE sustained (that is used for high M+ keys)

Cool thanks, this is really helpful and interesting. I've never been big into simming but I can see how people can get really into it...

And yes, that was me.

Why are you in the MMO section at all then? Begone and go play your chess for 20 minutes.

If your WoW exploits don't impress people then you're hanging out with the wrong people.

If you've never whipped your dick out on a Thunderfury reference at the bar, you're doing it wrong.

I'm feeding on the misery you all have about a game you can't leave.

Enjoy grinding your gated systems while fighting Scourge 2 and Lich King 2.

Wow, thanks for the psychoanalysis Dr. Freud. May I suggest to stop projecting like an IMAX cinema from your own past mistakes and failures? That'd be great.

This from a guy who really loves FF 8.

Never assume anyone does things the same way you do/did, or to the full extremes you hear about. Yes...there is an extreme where it's probably crazy unhealthy how much time people spend on WoW even currently, there's also the full casual mode. There's a whole lot space in between those two extremes, too, which is all perfectly normal use of free time. Most everyone will play for a month or two of new expansion, and then unsub for awhile. It's cool either way.

Regardless of what the devs say about making upgrades easier to identify, it's never held true. I use AskMrRobot religiously when Im actively playing. You cant just look at the popular wow sites and say "ok, Mastery is the best stat. Let me stack that, with Agility second." If you do, you'll be missing out on a very balanced character sheet and some significant DPS loss in the long run.

Shit I used to be all in on both PvE/PvP. Now I just do M+/Heroic raid and I'm good. Fuck those poopsocking days, the majority were actually boring anyway. I suppose that's why I can still enjoy the game.

Most of us here are already established in our careers or have long since started our own businesses. Nothing you do or ever will do impresses people: not your Wix consulting business, not your shitty taste in music, and certainly not playing chess online at a grade school level. There are several people on this board that I know of not only played WoW full time but also worked full time and made piles of cash. Just because you failed at both doesn't mean other people did.

But hey...grats on your start in running your own business. I'm sure people are banging your door down to help them build websites on Wix. We can all see that you've realized it is too late to make a difference in your life and you are lashing out at people who are or were successful and earned the time to fuck around with as we please.

It's an online learning platform coded from scratch but OK, yes my chess is grade school level but it's still more skillful that the face roll that it WoW.

I just don't believe that anyone playing WoW full time and complaining about the game here is successful in anything. It used to be me and I know how much time it takes up.

I don't think any of us participating in the discussion earlier and fucking around during pre-patch/expansion release is "playing WoW full time". Hell, we'll probably be doing something else in 2 months when we can't be bothered the grinds Blizzard seemed to be determined to add to SL.

So yeah, we all think you're projecting a lot right now.

doesn't seem like it with Shadowlands system design lol
Shadowlands content is mostly timegated and some of the "systems" in place have weekly caps and catchup mechanics: raiding, M+ and PvP start 3 weeks after release so there's no hurry to poopsock your leveling experience and things like renown (covenant rep) are weekly capped. Also there's no war / titanforging so M+ grinding isn't really a thing anymore. Even if you want to do top level mythic raiding you can buy tokens to get consumables, boosts to get gear, etc. There's also PvP but there's no required grind to get. It's a login -> do stuff -> logout model, not login -> wait for doc buffs in Coronet -> go to cantina for other buffs -> go PvP to get killed within seconds SWG type where you actually had to have lots of free time to rule the galaxy.
