It's grindy. Pretty much every major faction and activity is associated with 5+ dailies. Plus the normal valor/honor/conquest grinding. Definitely no reason for someone to be hanging out in Org for no reason anymore/bored.

Next update is adding 10 pets to Cata raids, as well as a few others gained by various means. Gotta catch 'em all!

Burning Crusade raids. 4 in Karazhan, 3 in Serpentshrine Cavern, 3 in Tempest Keep. For collecting all of them, you get 'Tito'.

It's sad, but that was the best part of the patch notes for me. I don't care much for the pet battles, but I've become addicted to collecting them. I went from 30 pets when I resubbed, to being in the top 50 collectors on my realm.

The warbringers/warscouts that spawn in the coastal areas of MOP drop insignias that give 1000 rep (2200 with the commendation). After killing a few trying for the mount my characters went from never having encountered a rep to exalted in a couple clicks.

Not exactly an elegant solution, but fuck dailies forever.

I'm not sure why you guys are even worrying about rep on alts. Other than some patterns being rep locked, Tillers, and maybe Cloud Serpent Riding, there's really no reason to worry about it now that the rep gear is outclassed by LFR gear, let alone what you can get in your guild's alt runs of MSV etc... if applicable. Not to mention that the new daily dungeon/farming rep will get you there soon enough without the boring-ass grind.

I completely agree that their daily design this expansion is fucking retarded. I detested them the first time through, let alone the 2nd and third, but those worries went out the door when I stopped and asked myself why I would possibly need most of the reps on alts anyways.

Fuck the Shado-Pan daily related achievements though. 15 fucking dailies with each of the 9 various Shado-Pan companions? Ugh.

Why spend it on older VP gear though, instead of just using it on the new kirin-tor/shado assault stuff? You're capped at 1k a week, so it's unlikely you're going to end up running out of stuff to spend it on. And even if you do: spend it on blood spirits and sell them.

Edit - Yeah, Kirin-Tor/Sunreaver requires more dailies, but these ones are more than worth it due to the elder charms/scenario key.

I've always had a love/hate with rep. I like small pockets of dailies, like Quel'danas or this new island, but fuck I hate them being the gate for everything with a ridiculous grind. I remember you had valor or rep grinds to usually exalted for epics. Not both. Fucking hate this system and miss the cata/wotlk system because I'd rather grind group shit than solo shit.

I gotta praise Bioware on rep being account wide. I'm not sure what its tied to reward wise but I fucking appreciate it.

Yeah, reps should be account wide. They also need to ditch the opposing factions shit from vanilla. People want to be friends with bloodsail and goblins? Let em.

Well, I did some reps for profession recipes - priest needed enchanting and tailoring, paladin needed the belt buckle etc. The priest got the worst end of the deal, and that was the bag and enchanting recipes from shado-pan and august celestials. I bitched about it before but going from golden lotus revered THEN to revered/exalted with the two of them was bollocks.

My hunter just recently got a lot of insignias, just to be able to get into the LFRs. My bad luck streak is legendary; talk to anyone from my old raiding guilds and they'll tell you how fucking awful it was. It continues, so when I wanted to gear my hunter up a bit, I started doing heroics but couldn't get shit to drop. Literally. I'd do heroics where every boss had a chance to drop 1-2 items and none would. Over and over again. I crafted some items to boost ilvl, and did heroics, and eventually went "fuck it". The justice point items are not high enough ilvl for 460 LFRs, unless you have other items that are much higher. So, my bad luck streak going, I ended up sucking down insignias to get the free 489 ring from klaxxi and the 489 neck from golden lotus, and then spent the VP I got from dailies on items from the two of those factions.

The whole way to grind gear in this expansion is just super frustrating; if you get unlucky you're pretty fucked I feel, whereas other expansions it seemed you had a better avenue. I'm not against the ilvl requirement for the LFRs, but no requirement back in the day meant if I got fucked on drops prior I might not get fucked on drops NOW.

Meh. I got her into LFR and she's at about 479 ilvl. I imagine I'll get a few more items next week and be able to hop into ToT LFR.

Also remember, that the shado-pan assault rep can only be gotten from specific things like scenarios and the raid itself - and if you don't have a high enough ilvl to do the TOT LFR, yea. You'll be sitting on neutral/friendly for awhile. Kirin Tor Offensive has nothing specifically amazing; a couple items from 476-496 that you still need to grind anyways, and none of those are the 522 ilvl.

So either way, you're grinding something technically old. Kirin Tor might be a new rep, but the ilvls are not on par with the new crap.
