I started in TBC, but that looks on par with the biggest feature list I've seen since wotlk if it happens.

Oh and my autocorrect just corrected wiylk to wotlk. Me thinks I like wow.

Everyone is crying about how the new rare world drop legendaries are going to be mandatory for Mythic raiding...but have fun raiding with 6 people or less when RNGesus assrapes over half of your raiding core

The solution is to make them skins with cool effects on par with shit dropped in heroic mode.

Tying Spinning Crane Kick to Chi instead of Energy is literally Hitler. Spinning through non-raid instances like a top is the funnest part of being a WW!

What's the story with heirlooms? They still capped out at 60/85 besides the new weapons?

I mean, it is going to be RNGesus but they also said there will be specific ways to obtain them through the world. Putting an emphasis on specific, that leads me to believe that if you want to put in the work you can get those items eventually. That's just my interpretation of it anyways. && look, even if it takes a lot for you to obtain them and it's not tied to only random droprate, I'm totally fine with that. If someone wants to put in far more time than me to get an item then they should be rewarded with it. If it's ONLY drop though, ehhhhh.

By default they are capped at those levels, however you can currently in warlords obtain items that will upgrade your Heirlooms all the way to level 100. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thing in Legion once you hit max level once.

Sure you can switch between them at will, but the artifact will block you from playing more than 2, and realistically you are stuck with 1. Not a huge deal for hybrid classes, but it sucks for dps only classes.
What makes you say that? They've said it will be pretty easy to catch up alternate spec artifacts. Note that 'catch up' doesn't mean 'keep them all maxed', but that'll be possible with some extra work.

Most of the stuff looks good and I like the shadow priest/disc changes. Just wish they would bring back 10 mans.

I do miss 10 mans, probably the most fun outside of Vanilla I ever had raiding was in Karazhan and Ulduar 10 mans. Partially cause they felt good at the time they were released and the people I was playing with.

So what's the overall feature list we have so far?

-Artifact weapon leveling
-Scalable leveling content for 100-110
-D3 style bounties for dailies
-Class orders which also work as replacing some of the daily content
-Class revamps (ranging from minor to completely gutted and reworked)
-Transmog system and UI
-D3-style rifts for Challenge Mode revamp, offering progression to compliment/replace (depending to tastes) raids
-10 dungeons (5 during leveling, 5 more after, all to take part in CMs)
-Pre-expansion launch content to be noteworthy, a new scenario
-Demonhunter class
-2 Launch Raids - 10 Boss Raid (Guldan), 7 Boss Raid (Emerald Dream/Nightmare)
-PVP System revamp

That most of the high-level feature list?

(Edited with stuff Foggy said)
There's no obvious feature in there which looks like it'd eat up 3/4s of the dev time (a la garrisons in WoD/old world revamp in Cata) and most of it is iterations on existing stuff (level scaling is already in for Timewalking, for example and the various halls will probably be based on the garrison) sohopefullythat means we actually get a completed expansion this time around.

Well, that plus it's an even-numbered expansion.

That is a ton of work for pure dps classes. Your personal gamestyle and everthing else that goes with picking that spec you love means nothing when the devs decide to nerf the fuck out of something and boost something else. Look at the mage in WoD, everyone started frost because not only was it the best, it had the correct gear for it in highmaul. Then came BRF where people often switched between fire and arcane depending on their gear or fight. Then HFC came and fire took it up the ass and everyone went arcane and frost with some still fire for specialized roles on certain Mythic bosses.

So If you raided for the entire expac as a mage and if they had the artifacts in place, you would have had to spend your entire time keeping up all 3 artifacts.

Blog said they are getting rid of Chi for Brews and doing more charge based stuff. Might be ok, might not be...curious to see what their tank fixes are that hopefully don't nerf DPS even more.

Heirlooms are capped at 60, 90, and 100. Upgrading the weapon past 90 is pointless because the ilevel 630 BoE blue crafted weapons are better, equipable at 91, and cheaper.

What makes you say that? They've said it will be pretty easy to catch up alternate spec artifacts. Note that 'catch up' doesn't mean 'keep them all maxed', but that'll be possible with some extra work.
They said keeping them more than one topped off will be burdensome. The main problem though is you have to slot relics into the artifacts to determine ilevel. They are basically the weapon drops we have now so getting a hold of multiple ones will be difficult. Furthermore, we don't know if you can just unslot a relic and throw it into another spec's artifact. Also, plus skills are on the relics and it is not clear if those change when you slot it in a different spec's artifact, if that is even possible.

Well, the only chance of me returning to WoW was if they finally fixed fistweaving, but guess what? It goes the way of the dodo, just like gladiator spec.
"Fistweaving in particular ended up being used mostly as a mana management tool to support Serpent Stance, instead of a damage/heal hybrid..."
And whose fault was it that it ended up that way?

Well, on the other hand disc priests suddenly became more interesting.

I'm pretty sure you can't; relics appear to be the Artifact-only version of gems. So you can't recover a relic once slotted, you can only overwrite it. Which is part of why it's going to be slightly more difficult to keep all your artifact to the top: you'll need to farm artifact power AND relics for all specs, while previously you could often reuse the same weapon in different specs.

I'm also guessing that higher-level relics are going to be like Baleful weapons, you'll get a token and click to "loot" the spec version of the relic. It's kind of awkward because unless you're obsessive about loot, you don't know what the relic does before you loot it, but I shudder of seeing the popup for a relic that covers 10 specs...

Completely disliking monk changes, mistweavers should have gone back to MoP status, when they were the most fun healers, instead they have been gutted again.
Nothing particularly interesting in all other classes so far, except demolock that may end up being fun to play and to watch and beastmaster hunter, with all those demons and beasts running around.

Priests and druids I like, a lot. If nothing else changes dramatically, I'm going to pick between them.

RIP Fistweaving Gladiator Stance - Forums - World of Warcraft

Fistweaving (and Gladiator Stance) will not be joining us in Legion.

We love the fantasy that each of those "subspecs" promise, but leaving them as subspecs has proven to be problematic, making us unable to properly deliver on their fantasy. Trying to support two different playstyles within one spec restricts how much we can focus and bring out the strengths of either of them. We still love both of their concepts, however, and will look for opportunities to bring them back in the future.

Fistweaving in particular ended up being used mostly as a mana management tool to support Serpent Stance, instead of a damage/heal hybrid, which didn't support its fantasy well. While we recognize that the initial goal for Mistweaver Monk -- combining a ranged healer with a melee healing style -- attracted some people to the class, quite a few things have changed since then. Most importantly, there's been a huge shift away from smart heals in Warlords, which is continuing in Legion.

Mistweaver gameplay for most players was centered around their ranged healing spells, and our focus for the spec in 7.0 consists of reinforcing their unique array of healing tools and adding talents and artifact powers that support this style.

Dammit blizzard is making me want preorder and pop the 100 upgrade on a new pirate. This was the first expansion I was thinking of not buying on release but I really want to be a pirate.
