This. This is complete guesswork/speculation on my part butit seems historically, the transition seems to happen once the most of the main stuff is in. It's getting closer and closer with each alpha build pushed. If i remember right with some past alphas, it seemed to go from alpha to beta a build or two after the max level for the xpac was obtainable/all launch zones were open. Currently it's at 108 at still a few zones not yet open. part, but just something that I've noticed in the past with other alphas.
WoD beta was going strong when I got it in July of 2014 and Talador/Spires/Nagrand weren't open. I'm not even sure you could level to 100 yet.

Got the Alpha email today too, so much be another wave of invites.

Too bad we won't get to see their sub numbers anymore, especially before Legion. Out of curiosity I want to see what their numbers dip down to during this pretty big stretch of nothing, lol, cause I honestly do think it will spike back pretty high in Legion, even if only for launch.

also RIP no alpha

Weird... i just got a alpha invite randomly

Time to pretend i'm illidan!
LOL same here dude. Fired up my bnet launcher to check who was playing D3 and boom, random Alpha. First alpha or beta I've ever gotten an invite to and both my wife and I have been playing since 2004. (Aside from the season pass MoP beta)

I know they try to make classes feel different, but when your game is essentially tab targetting and rotation based your hands are pretty tied. I applaud them being willing to break the mold on an 11 year old game. The pressure from the bean counters is undoubtedly to do more of the same and not risk the bottom falling out.

Can anyone point me to a guide that shows how to get my garrison and shipyard setup to make lots of money.

Can't speak for classes outside of DH and hunter for what i've dicked around with in alpha so far, but I know the spec's seem to feel different this go around. Survival throws me, dont really care for it. But the changes to MM seem fun and both specs are obviously completely different. Seems like that's their goal with classes like rogues and their specs, too. Which is a pretty neat approach.

and as Dandai says, I'm sure the bean counters are having a fit over turning classes on their heads (for some classes/specs, again, because of the ability pruning already done in wod). But WoW is still the one mmo where I feel like they really do try to look out for the player's fun. Though, some of those gambles clearly didn't work, they still try.

Anyone tell me how much does it actually cost to make those dumb panther mounts? My server is dead, and it's only the same 1 or 2 people listing them for 40k. Real servers it sells for like 25-30k.

I'm tempted to make a DK, pick whatever craft it is (Jewelcrafting I think?), use my 90 boost that I never used, then just make it myself. Man I wish the AH was game-wide.

Don't you need to grind cloud serpent dailies to get the recipes for all of those too? sounds like a PITA lol

Garrison: Level 3 barracks, war mill, trading post, inn, and salvage yard. Use the inn to hire followers with the treasure hunter trait every week. Use extra garrison resources to buy change traits in order to get followers the treasure hunter trait. Do the treasure hunter quests until you get Harrison Jones as a follower (he enables you to power level your followers to 100 very quickly). Obtain ilevel 675 on your character. Use garrison resources to obtain follower item level increases. Level your followers to ilevel 675 (start with Harrison Jones because his trait boosts other followers in his group to his ilevel). Log in twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, to complete missions and send your followers out.

Shipyard: Obtain level 3, keep remaking the ships until you have goblin crews on at least one of every type of ship.

Is there any idea of how involved changing up artifacts will be? I hate being married to a spec because, well, it's WoW. King shit one day, running with the tanks the next. Fuck You, go get all your gear again.

How much are we being funneled into picking the One True Spec for grinding/raiding/pvp?

I mostly agree with what he said, but I think garrison resources are much better spent on follower upgrades in the bunker or exchanging at the trading post for draenic dust if you're looking for gold.

If you REALLY want to min max your shipyard, this is what you want:Naval Fleet to counter all missions with 90% Chance

However, one goblin per ship type is probably good enough.

PS: If you're not using MasterPlan, get it now.

It's not that bad at least on the first one. They are leveled up via artifact power. takes more banked power the more points you put into the weapon. I know mmo-champ has datamined items that multiply artifact power gains. but I didnt look for where they are from. I imagine these are to be used as the catch-up mechanic for off spec items.

As far as changing up. I think when you get one, it's an item you can swap on the fly. You use a forge like thing to level it up with dropped items, etc. Though some quests seem to give flat power points.

Managed to get hpal boots off heroic Archimonde tonight and then bonus rolled the mace. Feels good to finally have that mace, now if only my tier would actually drop lmao.

Pug raiding has been sort of enjoyable as of late, I don't know what it is but I appear to have been joining the right groups most of the time. Sort of makes me miss having a guild to do runs with but I'm not sure I'm ready for that commitment right now to actually have to show up. Then again, maybe I don't want to wipe on mythic gorefiend 400 times anyways

Mythic is really enjoyable if you have a solid group. Mine is only 6 hours a week (2 3 hour nights) and we are 9/13 and working on Xhul. HFC is a great raid instance with a few flaws that are mostly ignorable due to some great fights.
