I think it was the terrible geography more than the lack of flying that annoyed me on WoD launch. Pandaria was actually better suited to no-flying because the layout and overall topography made sense and you could easily move from one zone to the next overland following logical paths. WoD, on the other hand, seemed to be built completely as a modular enterprise where it was virtually impossible to move on the ground between zones and so you ended up taking flight paths everywhere anyhow, even for the very first visit to a new area.

Lacking anything else to play right now I keep getting tempted to go back and level my Monk, but then I see what is happening to MistWeavers in Legion and I think better of it.

Well said. I feel the same way about WoD's zone design. Some of the areas right outside of the horde garrison are a good example. Go down into a canyon just to climb out the other side.

MoP had it well done except maybe for how the main city was gated by a quest chain.

They're going back on the strider change, they'll work on pre-Legion content.

They should have just tiered them or something, kind of like flying adapting to fastest speed. Latest expansion strider/qualifying mount gets you everything prior.

Now that I think about it I have no water walking mounts, heh.

Alright I've gotten most of the busy work for garrison, shipyard and the draenor flying crap out of the way. Now to gear up. I've gotten all the appropriate ilvl 650 treasures in Tanaan jungle and started the legendary ring quest. What else should I be doing to gear up fast?

Baleful gear in Tanaan/farming 20k apexis to buy the upgrade token to upgrade everything to 695. After that you can get valor from your daily dungeons, LFR weeklys, events (like the current timewalking dungeons) and use 250 x2 to upgrade your item by 5ivl (695 baleful to 705). You can also find that upgrade token (+500g, and a few baleful items) in bags when groups need your role, but it's not a guarantee. Sometimes LFR needs a dps role filled that will offer a bag to you that drop those. Since you're probably going to start working on your ring soon you'll need to do LFR anyways, so keep an eye out for those satchels. If you're tank there will probably be a lot of bags.

Mythic dungeons you can do once a week if you can manage to find a group that will take you, they can drop anywhere between 685ilvl all the way to 725. Apparently the less geared you are the higher chance you have at having a mythic warforged item drop, but I'm not sure how true that is.

Alternatively you can PvP in Ashran, I'd suggest looking for an ashran group in the pvp group finder, there's usually a few going. You'd join the group, queue while in the group, then leave the group and you'll get into their premade Ashran when your queue pops. Events drop boxes that drop gear, but also you get honor that you can buy the gear with your desired stat from a pvp vendor. It's actually the fastest way to go about gearing up in my opinion on a new char.

Heh, so you get the dungeon deserter debuff if you get kicked from a group? Was doing an Arcatraz Timewalking group and got kicked because they were a guild group and apparently found a tank from their own guild after we had formed. That's ridiculous.

Happens occasionally, it's actually pretty stupid.

Only once or twice to me so far, but what does happen a lot in TW dungeons is tanks that think they can chainpull content like they can in current WoD heroics and we wipe even when I tell them not to do it and I get kicked for being a bad healer. Happened twice today lmao. Everything in the BC dungeons does a mortal strike affect, it's awful. Also AOE 2shots people.

That's why I tank as much as I can, it's going to be terrible doing it as a priest, I tell you! Yesterday in Mana Tombs I was stunned, into silence, into horrified, for a dozen seconds of "fuck me, right?" moment. Luckily the group managed without troubles. Being silenced as a DK sucks.

Unfortunately monks are getting totally fucked up, especially Brewmasters. They were goddamn perfect to play and superbly fun, fuck the devs' beer obsession, I'll give them a couple lessons of Zui Ba Xian Quan if they want to understand what the style is (it's a lot of fun to practice, but younger guys are much better at it than I am

).
Mistweavers are getting back something resembling usefulness for what concerns meleeing while healing, granted it's not eminence, but last I read there was something in the works.

I'm sure Legion will provide some fun, if only to finally close the most interesting (to me) part of the lore, elves, emerald dream and all that jazz. I also think that in terms of class design they are grasping at straws. I can imagine already the reaction for those poor fuckers that pick, say Beastmastery over Marksman and find out they deal 30% less damage and they can't do shit about it, except grind the fuck out of their MM artifact from scratch (or with a little boost). Multiply this wonderful experience for the number of classes/specs and you have a picture of what Legion will be, aka a Clusterfuck of Epic Proportions.

They don't even know where they are going with the specs, Guardian Druids just pointed out that their gameplay was literally based on 2 fucking hotkeys, one spammed, one periodic. There is zero complexity, zero control over loot stats and with random rare legendary drops, this will become even worse. They have an idea of class fantasy that a lot of people don't share at all, they half-assed a good portion of the artifacts and with them broght back the old talent trees, except meaningless because you'll eventually get all points and augments.

Once again we'll have to deal with fucking followers, which were an amazing cross between cancer, ebola and aids in WoD ("but we listen!"). People thought Cataclysm was bad and I still found out good things in it, Pandaria was probably the best expansion all around and WoD was fairly shitty, but Legion is going to suck and so far I don't find any redeeming qualities. I think it'll do worse than WoD: lots of sales and then desert towns in two months top.

They should at least let Horde play with Alliance, I spend most of the time in Orgrimarr dodging tumbleweeds, it's a fucking deserted place (Stormwind is slightly better, but not by much) and decent guilds are pratically non existant.

Tried Timewalking for the first time ever, wednesday night. This shit is pretty fun.

Yesterday night I did two! First had a dps warrior rushing ahead because "gogogogo", second had a paladin tank pulling entire rooms.
The first group managed to live because the other three were a guild team in teamspeak, second group wiped three times because the guy didn't learn from his mistakes.

It's still fun topping the meters again, I found 90% of what's considered "best in slot" in my bank more or less. Even restored a few firelands drops that I vendored weeks ago because the internet told me to.

For me it is usually hunters who think you can chain pull like heroics who run way ahead of the group shooting everything in sight and then running back and then dumping them on the healers. In one group my healer even tried that trick of running ahead to pull more stuff. Pugs are gonna pug I guess.

Paragon quits raiding

https://www.paragon.fi/news/end-of-the-road

We have decided to stop raiding which obviously means we will not be a part of the world first race in Legion. In the end it came between going international, playing with suboptimal Finnish roster or quitting. For a while I was seriously considering going the international route, but in the end decided it was not worth the trouble for me. This question has been looming over our heads for a long time as it has always been a challenge to get a solid Finnish 20-25man roster together and this time there was no 10man option to bail us out.

Going forward I have no idea if we will be playing WoW in any capacity in the future, we will have to see what is the situation when Legion launches. In the meantime you might see some of us in the fields of Overwatch.

I would like to thank everyone who played in progress raids with us and made this all possible.

I tried line of sight pulling last night so we could get one group at a time during some timewalker dungeons. Nobody else in the group understood the concept. Just started shooting shit without ducking behind a corner and stood there eating shit.

Haven't noticed TW dungeons to be all that difficult, but might have just had decent luck in not getting retards

They're not difficult if you don't overpull. Guess it's mostly just full of people that have never experienced TBC heroics though.

I will admit it's fun to go back with old legendaries and be a god.

Are bonus objective rewards random? I'm trying to find a list of rewards for each zones bonus objectives but can't seem to find anything other than dailies associated with them.

For a guy that hasn't played since blackrock foundry, what's the best way for me to come back in and start making money? Naval yard stuff?

I only have the one character. I might level a 2nd or 3rd but that's probably it. I just want to make enough to not have to pay for the game.

Well since you're a tank, satchels offer 500g every single time you get one when you queue for something that needs your role. Easy 500g.

Shipyard yard is good but missions can be infrequent. Best ship loadout is this
Best shipyard setup for 100% all gold missions? : wow

Taverns have gotten slightly nerfed but they still offer a good chunk of money daily when you have gold missions/gold followers.

Kill Kaz weekly for the easy Felblight that always sell. I actually make most of my money selling Felblight (herbalism etc)

There are better ways of course but these are the absolute easiest imo.
