Finally bit the bullet and bought some of those Medallion of the Legion thingies that got my rep high enough to unlock flying. My God the difference that makes! If only in time spent getting from A to B. I feel as though I can actually accomplish things in a reasonable amount of time again! I hope they don't pull this kind of fucking malarkey in Legion.

Anyway, what's up with the Legendary shipyard quest, the one where you have to finish 25 treasure missions? For some reason I can never get a 100% success rate on these damn things and my ships keep sinking. How do people manage this? Just brute force the fuckers and hope for the best from the RNG?

Are you using the master plan addon?

You need to buy ship equipment from your docks to swap in to cover the important counters.

Of course, the schematics for that equipment comes from specific named in Tanaan.

Someone on here recommended the Cross Realm Assist addon a couple weeks ago and it's pretty awesome for rare farming. I never did those ship counter plans prior but the last couple weeks I've gone on a 'do all the WOD things I haven't yet' binge which includes all the boring shit like fishing for Nat Pangle and getting the ideal 90%+ ship setup.

All the rares outside of the whale shark are easy to solo and with that realm assist addon you can just go to a spawn point, realm hop a few times and find it up without much work.

Yeah, it took some time but I used that to farm a dinosaur mount, was awesome just took some time since I was just camping one spot like many others. I was working on the purple phoenix mount but just stopped logging in a month or two ago and then cancelled for a bit.

I'd maintain a sub if I could tinker with the Legion beta... take my money Blizzard...

I'm in the same boat, I have a bunch of coins left to use but may take a small break, basically geared out short of a cloak and I'm not going to be joining a guild to do mythics anytime soon so I'm pretty much done, might finish my ring off this week but that's about it.

I'd love to just play legion already, the dungeons look so fun. Plus DH!

I've done this both ways (equipping counters for missions, or just YOLOing it) and honestly it's easier to just YOLO brute force it from my experience. When there's no treasure missions up, run the exp missions to level your ships up a bit but don't stress over losing them. Also keep in mind that your ships won't sink if you have at least a 90% success chance.

Right, didn't know that about 90% success chance! Thanks! I have most of the planes, except for the shark one. Guess I'll just combine countering and yoloing. Thanks for the tip!

Build a mage tower and always have the waystone missions running. You can speed up the shipyard portion of the legendary quite a bit using the mission completion orders from the tower.

Unless they changed something, this does not actually speed it up because the next mission does not spawn faster. It does help if you fail a legendary mission, but that is rare.

I'm pretty close to 300 mounts, so I'm gonna make 3 RAF accounts and buy the subs with tokens. I'm not going to actually use these new accounts so I figured I'd put it out there in case anyone is thinking about starting up again or wants a second account. The accounts will have all expansions through MoP, so you'd have to buy WoD, but you'd get two free months thanks to my tokens. If I don't hear back from anyone by tomorrow evening I'm gonna go ahead and make them using dummy emails.

Ah. Yeah good point. Well you can still speed through the 25 treasure missions you need first or whatever right?

I've been making full counter fleets (from the MMOchamp thread that has a fleet that can counter every single mission at 90%). It takes a few weeks to setup (due to the massive amount of rerolling you need), and leveling 3 different carriers including 2 pandaren ones is a pain in the ass. But after that, it's pure automatic from the table, no going out to the shipyard to make a new ship because you lost one.

Alternatively, you can make the max gold fleets. It's slightly slower to set up because you're making ships with less counters and so they're slower to level.

I have 10/12 of my characters with max gold fleet and oil rigs. Rerolling the ships is the most labor intensive part (excluding the faction farming for oil rigs, of course). Since I have 12 toons to track I made a spreadsheet that tracks all my ships per character to make sure I have everything. But after the initial setup you only have to pay attention to when Master Plan puts an Undead carrier for higher success rate instead of Goblin for high gold.

Dunno if anyone has been mucking around in the alpha, but the legendary quests are amazeballs. Really enjoying all of them so far.

Killed Mythic Xhul last week and then Tyrant this week (24 pulls total, lol). 11/13 Mythic! Now on to many many Mannoroth wipes....

Manno took us about 200 but honestly it's my favorite fight of the tier. The mechanics and coordination just all kind of make sense. After finishing that up we went into Archi with high spirits but ended up getting our souls crushed. Got past it all eventually though. We're down to just two nights a week which is nice. Get up to Xhul at least and potentially past him night one and wrap up 3 or 2 the next night.

Ret Pally one is pretty boring really. I guess it might be cooler if the ending wasn't already spoiled to death, but the "quest line" itself is pretty mediocre...and short.

Some of the others though are really well done.

Holy was pretty good; I didn't do Ret though, mainly because the weapon and quest line just seemed so...obvious I guess?

My favorite one might be Warlock; it's just super cool what you get to do. Made me wish I'd paid more attention to my alt and gotten the green fire feat. Demonology plays super weird however; I go from being totally weak to super OP, but it takes me about 7 buttons.

Jesus Christ! You muck around with this on 10 characters? I find it tedious and time consuming for one!
