There are naval yard missions that are worth 2k gold and if you have dwarven crew 4/6k gold depending if you have them on all the ships. So basically one mission can potentially fully pay off the cost of your rank 3 garrison. Now consider the 700 gold missions are not that uncommon and 100-200 gold missions are pretty common. A ranked up naval yard craps out money hard and fast.

I decided to level my other 8 characters through their rested exp (most were either 80 or 85) and that gave me the break I guess I needed from WoD garrison/shipyard/flying grinding. Back at it the last few days, almost done with the stupid tanaan rep grind and then I'll have flying.

Probably too late to be of much use now, but the level 3 Trading Post is really nice for speeding up rep gains. To unlock the blueprints you need 1 WoD rep at exalted, and by far the easiest rep to hit exalted first would be the goblin rep.

I've since changed factions and servers but I'd be willing to roll something on Hyjal to eventually raid with you all in Legion. Have close to 2m gold on the other server and don't feel like dropping all that money to change servers.

You just replace one ship at a time for the shipyard. Since it's completely RNG it can take a while to reroll them all. I'd start now.

The way I did it was having two different ship models levelling at the same time. It helps because you get missions that can be done by one but not the other, and you can level both in parallel.

Reroll the carriers whenever you don't have a carrier leveling. Those things are a pain to level.

I got so goddamn lucky when creating my current fleet originally it's kind of a shame to have to reroll. I only had one ship get delivered without an upgrade and 2 of the ships were delivered as epic. So like 6 rares, 2 epic and 1 green or whatever the number is.

EDIT: Luck is on my side I guess. Just got the infinite timereaver mount.

I just started working on this on all my alts a few days ago and yeah it's pretty time consuming. It's also trickier leveling them up because you really don't want to risk that Murloc Destroyer sinking when you finally get it, so it can take a while for missions to show up that you feel safe doing.

I do have one question regarding the gold missions. Once you have the gold fleet setup, you obviously want to stick to gold missions and blockades when necessary. Are there any other missions you need to clear out to get the gold ones to pop? Or do you just not run any missions for the day if gold ones aren't up?

How rare are the edge of reality portals? I just clicked one and my game crashed and now it's gonzo.

Anecdotally, if I don't do any shipyard missions except gold missions, I don't see new missions (gold or otherwise) until the current set of missions start expiring. Gold missions don't seem to be on their own list.

Nevermind I got the mount anyway. Apparently all you need to do is click on the portal, join the queue, and then leave queue to get the mount.
