Because of scaling, some procs/set bonuses are effectively worthless. But era-appropriate legendaries don't get scaled down afaik (ie Shadowmourne will be the same ilevel as it always is, Cat rogue daggers will be same ilevel for Cat timewalking, etc). I haven't witnessed this first hand to confirm.

I was in a TW dungeon this morning with a mythic monk tank who had 54k hp and basically didn't need to be healed so yea it scales down but high end stuff still performs.

Am I missing something? I thought gear didn't mean shit in ANY timewalking dungeon. I wasted a couple afternoons putting together an ideal set of heroic ICC raid gear including set bonuses, the exalted ring proc, trinkets, and Shadowmourne, and it felt the same as if I were wearing level 80 shitty quest greens and blues.
It depends on the set bonus. Most of the percent type bonuses seem to be garbage where the static number ones don't scale down. For example the 2pc mage bonus from ulduar procs +350 spell power and is extremely powerful. Same with the +209 spell power from ICC ring. Ideal gems are the pre-WoD +10 main stat or +5 main/+10 secondary stat. If you look at my armory the ridiculous clown suit I'm wearing literally triples my damage over wearing normal gear:http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...alien/advanced

The items that have the biggest impact are any legendary weapon from a previous expansion, and MoP legendary cloak if you have it. The WoD legendary ring sucks because of scaling and the 715 version is better.

Can confirm. A pal of mine didn't want to bother with building a full set but equipping Shadowmourne and MoP cloak doubled his damage.

Hrmm, I wonder if that's affecting AH prices at all. I just looked at my alt accounts, during WoTLK I had a huge stockpile of uncut epic gems and I still have them all.

Probably good money to be made if you have the right cuts. When I was building my set it took a while because some were in short supply and pretty expensive on AH. Ended up having to farm a couple of cuts for my JC alt because they were never posted.

Pit of Saron? Yeah, scaling is a little off/working like it should (delete as appropriate) so people need to pay attention to mechanics, not overpull trash, etc. Tyrannus willfuck you upif whoever is marked doesn't stop DPS, for example. My guess is they've got a set scaling formula for each era which doesn't take the in-built increased difficulty for later patch dungeons (the Icecrown ones in WotLK, the Deathwing-related ones in Cata) into account.

That. The dungeons aren't changed from what they are (the mobs have the same level, hp, dps, etc. if you enter in timewalking or normally), but you are scaled down to the appropriate era. So, while you usually overgear the X.0 dungeons, the late X.3 ones have you "moderately geared".

Maybe it's because I've been doing heroics since tbc and tanked them in every expansion but I found time walking a face roll so far.

It's kind of crazy how much muscle memory and pull mechanics come right back to you when you step in.

Like i haven't done halls of lightning heroic since before the first raid of wotlk came out, yet I walked in and remembered every pull and boss strategy.

Working on flying myself, but I don't have as much time to play.

The timewalking dungeons aren't supposed to be mythic hard. They are harder than WoD heroics though, not necessarily very difficult but more difficult than anything other than mythic dungeons.

You can't faceroll through halls of lightning. Did you pull the first boss with his buff? Did you try to tank runemasters and a double spear mob pull? etc etc. You can just pull shit in later expansions, have to actually do one, maybe two packs at a time in Timewalking in certain dungeons.

Is the game at a point where you can completely ignore garrison shit and be OK? Maybe it's been that way but I felt like last time I tried playing and boosted to 90 or whatever, they forced me down that path and I really want nothing to do with them.

As far as alts go? I think you at least need to do the quest but you don't have to maintain it at all unless you want to try to get it geared up to get gold.

Otherwise if you don't care about gold there really is zero reason at all to touch your garrison.

Just playing in general. Never played WoW enough, just every so often. It'd be my main and I'd play it pretty casual. I played a few months back and got to the garrison stuff and just have absolutely no interest so I logged off and ended my sub, lol.

If I can just skip right over it that'd be great, but I think I needed it to unlock certain zones or some shit.

You need your level 3 actually I believe for Tanaan (the shipyard) but that's it, no need to maintain it after
