The hell are you talking about? You can get pretty much 100% functionality out of AMR for free. The only thing the paid tools do is cross-reference and sort multiple free lists together for the truly lazy.
Just click an equipped piece of gear in any slot and it'll give you the list of upgrades for that slot. You can change the filters for the BiS list to only show gear from specific sources, raid tiers, and ilvls. You can also get stat weights for your spec, then plug those numbers into an in-game app like Pawn to directly compare possible upgrades as you see them drop, or from the dungeon journal. Pawn doesn't work with trinkets though, unless they are stats only, no procs.
For the bonus rolls list, all it does is multiply the upgrade value of an item by the chance it will drop in a bonus roll for your class. The problem is their chance values are usually inaccurate, especially since any individual player's chances vary based on their past bonus roll luck. I usually just use my rolls on whatever the biggest upgrade was.
