Call me old fashioned, but I like to see people walking around and chatting and roleplaying and PvPing in dalaran and dueling outside of the city gates. There might not be a server community anymore like there used to be, and people mostly don't talk to each other anymore, but with a higher local population it at least feels somewhat social. There's something deeply depressing about going to a bank in an MMO and seeing nobody there. Like one time I went back to go play EQ, not during a progression server launch or anything special, but just on my own for fun. I had fun for a few weeks even though it was pretty lonely, but when I went to the bank and saw 0 people, that's when I got hit with a ton of bricks and logged out for a few years. Obviously WoW has millions of players and it's never that bad, but I like to see a shit ton of people in the capital cities. I spend a lot of time there, so it means something to me.
Edit: Looking into WoW communities gives me some hope. I am glad they are working on this and that they realize it's important. Now they just need to find a way to make people social and nice again lol.
Yeah I think that's a sentiment shared by many people. We all miss smaller tight knit communities. We miss your reputation on a server mattering and people knowing you or your guild at a glance. Sadly World of Warcraft is no longer that game. It's a glorified X-box lobby and has been moving in that direction ever since Battle Grounds were queueable. Back when they added retard rocks to try and auto group you. It's just something you have to accept in this game. Honestly you can play the game solo interact with very few people and access almost everything in the game short of the very top end things. Good or bad that is what it is.
The best way to overcome this and get a solid experience with a community is to be part of one yourself. The reason the FoH guild was fun for the most part is because there is community there, most people are around to help each other out and so on. LFR, and LFG provide nothing but warm body retards who are tools for us to get our loots these days. Sometimes I wouldn't even give a shit if they were replaced by NPC's at least NPC's you know would put out a solid throughput and wouldn't AFK.
I know my schedule will be sporadic in BfA so I will be using Discord's/ Communities/ and Guild to accomplish things I wanna do for sure. Caring about who is in Dalaran or Org is long long past. Just like giving a shit out people having a tier set on. Maybe when they release the classic servers you can get some of that.
