You are also talking about the most cleaveable fight in all of HM. Shit there is a combat rogue with 78k+ DPS on that fight.

Whose balls do I have to fondle around here to get some honest reviews on gaming headphones? I currently have theTurtle Beach Ear Force PX22and after a year the plastic headband is cracking and just fucking up my shit hard.

I've had the Razer Carcharias before and the mic just fucking stopped working 3 months in, on both mine and my wifes headsets. Both of the above were fucking great before they broke. I think the PX22's actually sound way better than the Carcharias but yea.

Suggestions, let's have them.

Honestly, the board guild is pretty good about raiding. Come back on Hyjal and join us. The talents and everything else have flopped around, so post what role you like and people can give suggestions.
Nehrak for real, we have 2 casual raids a week and we do one night of mythic a week.

Step 1 is to stop buying "Gamer" or "Gaming" branded overpriced garbage. Buy a good pair of headphones and a good desktop mic. Hell the mic doesn't even have to be that good. I have an $8 one from Amazon that works just fine.

As for my headset for my gaming PC I prefer open air headphones since if I don't want to wear them I can set them down and they work as a pseudo speaker. If I actually need to hear stuff a bit more clearly I put them on.

mic:Amazon.com: Frisby M-20 Flexible Stand Alone Microphone for PC Computer Laptop Notebook Skype Voip: Computers Accessories
headset:Amazon.com: Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 Open-air Dynamic Audiophile Headphones: Electronics(but I got them for ~$70-100 iirc)

Any other recommendations for headphones that doesn't have just 1 new for sale? Appreciate the quick response

You would get better responses in the headphones thread in the tech forum or doing a bit of research. You'll probably be lead down the directino of Audio Technica or Senn. Then you just need to figure out which works best for you. Open air isn't for everyone and it broadcasts the noise in the room. So if you don't want to disturb people then get closed. Personally I love open for the reasons I said. I can still get GTFO alerts but I don't have to physically wear the headset.

I use some Sennheiser's but I don't know the model number. I've had them for about 8 years now and they still look, feel, and sound brand new. I don't know if my voice sounds awesome coming through but everyone else sounds awesome.

Since they're so old I'm not sure the exact model is still there, they look similar to this (but slightly different):

Amazon.com: Sennheiser PC 151 Binaural Headset with Noise-Canceling Microphone Volume Control: Electronics

Edit: After looking at them, they appear to be the same headset I use except they are updated. Note they are not USB but use mic input and headphone output

The audio quality on basically all teamspeak-like programs is so bad you could be talking into a tin can attached to a rope connected to your computer and it'll basically sound the same

Thanks guys. I'm gonna get the wife a pair of the PX22's again because I know she likes them. For me though, it's time to dig into some research! I have a big melon head, which means my ears are also big...so even some over the ear variants end up pushing on my ears. If I have the PX22's too far back on my ear, after 3 hours of raiding I can't even touch my ears or I get pain. Thanks super stiff cartilage.

I boughtthesebecause i didn't like the sound of any AT or Sennheiser headphones i've tried. They're also quite comfortable, i rarely get aching ears unless i've been using them for ~ 10 hours or something absurd at a time. I also wear glasses and have no issues with them pressing on the arms of them, causing pressure which a lot of headphones seem to do.

They're definitely more expensive though heh

You're better off going to a music store and testing out a bunch of headphones though, sound difference between people is enormously vast.

Time to sit in ashran while i work all day, gotta cap 8700 conquest points on the warrior, but at least he'll have a 660 weapon and some gear by the end of the day lol

Use one of these with a decent pair of headphones if you want actual sound fidelity. If you're just using the headset for voice comm, I would buy a lightweight cheap headset. I've been using a 10ish dollar headset for a few years now for skype and it's perfectly clear, while my buddy has invested hundreds in several pair of expensive 'gaming' headsets over that span, and uses none of them now.

Most of my voice communications are either when I'm raiding in wow from 8:30est to 12am 3 days a week, or doing day-z shit since I'm a head admin on a server group. I think both would be just fine using a desk mic tbh.

Other than that, I absolutely love almost greening out on the weekend and listening to music for hours. So I think Tenks may have come up with the ultimate solution for me.

I just have to find which set without a mic I want.

I'm like an infant with socks - I pull that headset off at every opportunity. Even the lightest, cheapest garbage set gives me a headache fast.

The headset I linked first is shockingly comfortable. It has this fairly unique wing design up top that relieves a ton of pressure and the headset itself is fairly wide so it doesn't crush on your ears. I can wear it for an entire day and generally forget it is on unlike my at-work headphones which start to wear on me after a few hours.

Try one of these, or a similar variant-

Amazon.com: Motorola S11-Flex HD Wireless Stereo Bluetooth Headset - Retail Packaging - Black/White: Cell Phones Accessories

Amazon.com: Lg Tone Pro Hbs-750 Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Black Hbs750: Cell Phones Accessories

I own the pair in the first link. 5 hours of talk time on a 15 minute charge, use it while I'm outside working usually, paired to my phone. They both rest on your neck, no head straps. You'll have to buy a cheap bluetooth dongle if your pc doesn't have bluetooth, but those are like 10 bucks.
