Brendan Pedder Played Apoc in the end scene.

The kid is 18 and an unknown. Judging from the following picture, I bet he is hung like a horse.....

Or he can suck a bowling ball through a straw. That smile on the right doesn't lie.

I find myself in agreement with Column and Kegkilla (partly).

This truly is the end of days.

Just wondering, but could you give an example of a tech problem?
Perfect example:Magneto's escape from his plastic prison in X2.

In that sequence he's taking molecular iron and reforming it into ball bearings which he uses to kill everybody around him. But the reverse is possible too. He could take a steel I-beam and reduce it down to molecular iron, then accelerate that cloud of iron at a small percentage of the speed of light (~1%, or 3000 km/s). This would destroy everything in its path, including sentinels made of a "space age polymer", and they'd be helpless to stop it. In DoFP, however, he's tossing chunks of metal at them, which they intercept with their face lasers easily.

The problem is that the writers don't understand the abilities these mutants have. Everybody geeking out over Quicksilver and Blink are doing so because the writers seem to have a slight grasp on the possibilities for them, but other mutants are downplayed because they'd fuck up anything the writers could throw at them.

I think the "power" of mutants' powers fluxuates in the comics depending on the line and the age. It's like the Hulk being able to barely throw a tank to punching planets apart. Shit is crazy. I think they're trying to dumb down character powers to where they're powerful, but not god-mode. I mean Prof X could just control every mutant on earth with Cerebro and throw them all at Magneto. But he doesn't, because it's a movie.

The writers surely go to marvel wikipedia, see what Mutant ____ is capable of in his power section, and then decide to scale down the level of that power they want to use.

The only negative about this film is that this Quicksilver isn't in the Avengers. Why we need two different Quicksilvers and Scarlet Witches is beyond me. Fucking production company bullshit.
Same reason we have another Spider Man. Anyways, Quicksilver is a kid in this movie and adult in that one, so there is at least a valid reason even if as someone said the bar is set really high. He definitely stole this movie. His scenes were great.

While Quicksilver in the comics is an arrogant ass, he was always one of my favorite characters. The Vision and Scarlet Witch storylines as well the Crystal marriage really were some of the best writing done for the Avengers. I have no idea what happened post 1993 as I quit reading comics back then in my early 20s. I guess I might try and find a timeline for what's going on just for fun.

That, in and of itself, isn't a bad thing. Magneto isn't an omega level mutant but he functions like one because of his popularity. Writers continually escalate powers because they are just trying to sell comics and keep their job so they aren't worrying about long term effects. Dialing powers down isn't the problem, as long as it's internally consistent.

I think the problem is that even vastly neutered versions of the powers in the movies are still basically godlike if used correctly. Certainly Quicksilver's power in the movie is absolutely absurd. He is moving MUCH faster than a bullet (bullets are essentially frozen while he is moving), so very few cameras would even be able to capture his movements. He could have killed every other mutant in the room also, before any of them could react. You could make Quicksilver only be able to move 1/10th as fast in the movie and he still would be able to kill everyone before they could do anything.

Jean Gray in the first x-men movie talks about how her powers are weak, yet even as weak as they were, she could take over any government in existence and drive any person crazy if she wanted. Assuming pretty much any level of these types of powers in the general population and you would probably be hard pressed to find any government or company not ruled by a mutant.

So yeah, they pretty much have to downplay it. When they don't, like when Quicksilver did his thing, it just seems absurd that he fears or listens to anyone, especially humans.

Yeah, quicksilver was pretty OP.

If he moves that fast, how could any nimrod ever hope to catch him? and if they could, why the hell weren't they zipping around at near lightspeed to kill all the other mutants before they could even blink (pun intended)?

One thing that irks me about speedsters is, stamina. So flash or QS can run around the world or across the country. They still have to move thier legs as many times as a normal person would. How do they not crap/ dehydrate have enough calories to burn to even run 200 miles let alone thousands?

Crap could mean cramp, but I will let it stand
