Having not owned a true console since Sega Genesis, what would you guys recommend Xbox or ps5?
Honestly even as someone who has been a big Xbox fan for many years I couldn't recommend Xbox right now for someone who is new to modern consoles. The PS5 simply makes a lot more sense in your position. It seemed like the Series X was well on it's way to being a great comeback for Xbox earlier this gen but Microsoft really fumbled the ball hard lately and has been making all the wrong moves. I think the only real selling point for someone like you would be if you have any interest in buying old original Xbox and 360 titles and playing them with the enhancements like X Enhanced and FPS boost where it's available. There's even a good number of last-gen titles with that, but the PS5 has done a good job of offering enhanced performance with many of it's last-gen titles as well.

I just think Playstation has the far better strategy going forward when it comes to making a good case for it's self as a home console worth buying. Xbox on the other hand feels like it's simply becoming a lower priced hardware alternative to a gaming PC with little to offer if you aren't interested in the aforementioned backwards compatibility. Heck I have no idea why I would want their next gen console because they are releasing everything on PC while Xbox consoles will be far more limited in terms of where you can get your games and it will require you to buy a subscription in order to play games online. Yeah this is also an issue with Playstation, but at least it will still have some exclusive content and features to make it feel worthwhile. That and PS+ is far better when it comes to the freebie games compared to Gamepass Core as everything on Gamepass is timed meaning it won't be playable anymore as soon as they drop it from the subscription while the monthly free games on PS+ Essential can be kept playable in your library for as long as you're a paying subscriber.

When it comes to Xbox right now I honestly think you would be far better off just buying a gaming PC and calling it a day. Same games going forward with a lot more to offer in terms of AA and indies, and you won't have to pay for a subscription if you want to play games online. Otherwise if you don't want a gaming PC just get a PS5 and call it a day.

Just let everyone know this developer is the Golden standard of these remastered companies. They did dark souls remastered.(great), bioshock collection, metal gear solid remakes, and the Uncharted Nathan drake remasters. I can say I’ve played all of those and they were all great and impeccable.

As someone who previously had a PS5 I disagree. You didn’t even point out the genuine differences, just a lot of feely words.

The XBox Live experience is infinitely simpler and better than PS+. The UI is cleaner and accessing games w the ability to download or play live is smoother. Overall Xbox is just a better designed interface.

PlayStation also JUST added free monthly games to their PS+ subscription. And while I agree Xbox has been weak lately, to say PS+ is superior is pretty silly since it’s a brand new feature and NOT EVEN AS GOOD as Xbox. Time will tell if this continues.

Originally you had to have two separate PS subscriptions for Live and older games. That shit pissed me off so hard. Xbox has always bundled this. I do think PS+ bundles now too, but it shows how retarded PS is when they think about this stuff.

PS+ tiers are also inferior, there are way more of them, and they’re more expensive than Xbox.

Xbox experience is simpler/better in every way except exclusive releases. If you want exclusives go PS. If you want literally anything else go Xbox.

[edit] Oh and parental controls on PS are so fucking bad, while the Xbox experience, per everything else is great.

With the exception of Stellar Blade, PS hasn't had an exclusive worth giving a shit about since they let Naughty Dog start making games for trannies and other degenerates and then spread that philosophy to the rest of their studios. They even tried their best to ruin Stellar Blade too, but thankfully that (mostly) failed.

Literally the only thing the base PS5 has that's better than a Series X is the ability to use standard NVMe Gen4 SSDs.

WTF are you talking about PS+ has had the free monthly games since it launched in 2010 lol. A simple Google search confirms this. That and your selling point for buying an entirely different console is the user interface for it's online subscription? What? Seems like an extremely specific and negligible thing to narrow in on while completely ignoring everything else to be discussed when it comes to consoles. Not sure why you're acting like the subscription experience is the be-all end-all talking point for why anyone would want to buy one console over the other. I mean brand new feature? I had it on my PS3 lol.

When it comes to which console is better than the other I think the online subscription is just a necessary expense you have to deal with if you want to play games online. Any benefits the subscriptions have to offer is just a bonus. Most of the benefits to a Gamepass subscription over PS+ comes from the Gamepass Ultimate subscription which is significantly more expensive than PS+ Essential. Heck I recently let my Gamepass Ultimate expire and downgraded to Core because the games they have on offer just aren't that great anymore. If you're going to be comparing these consoles, focusing on these subscriptions as the main talking point is just a really intellectually dishonest approach to the discussion. I think the games you can buy and the overall ownership experience would matter a lot more.

Heck if all you care about is streaming games off Gamepass Ultimate you don't even need an Xbox console for that lol.

You don't know why a console's UI, that you'll spend hundreds of hours navigating, is worth mentioning? And you're mad about it?

It's been a couple of years since I was on PS+, so it's a little fuzzy.

Glad to know you're a total faggot tho, lol. Thanks for the reveal!

Why are you so big on the Xbox UI over the PS5's? I mean yeah the PS5 isn't perfect but the Xbox UI is literally full of advertising by comparison.PS5 has a better library menu with better organization. Heck the Xbox UI shoved off the library access to promote their store more.

I mean I am normally an Xbox fan and it sounds like you are just trying REALLY hard to be a contrarian right now.

Why are you comparing Essential to Ultimate? Essential is the trash-tier equivalent to Core and it's about $20-25 more expensive. Extra is the only tier of PS+ worth having, and it's $135 compared to roughly $110-115 (prices for codes vary quite a bit, currently they aren't great) for Ultimate.

Personally I am sort of over online services for the most part. I had PS+ Premium for the first year I had my PS5 and I was underwhelmed by it for the price. Plus Extra just seems like an overpriced sub to me as well. Heck I also think Essential is overpriced but you're pretty much stuck with that if you want online multiplayer capability. Gamepass Core is definitely the better deal most of the time as it's priced about where a basic online sub should be. I got PS+ Essential for about $60 on a black Friday deal and that's probably the main reason I got it and consider it not that bad for its needed use.

I just don't like paying for these premium subs anymore after the recent price hikes. I don't get nearly enough out of them and I find myself only playing the same few games that really appeal to me over time. I think I got a bit more out of them while I was just trying out a bunch of different games but only so many were what I would consider keepers and a year goes by faster than you'd think especially if you aren't the type of person who is always gaming all the time. I simply figured I was better off just buying the games I really like and forgetting about having a subscription to access them, especially if I buy them well discounted during a sale event.

Honestly the whole subscription situation is probably one of the things I like the most about PC over consoles especially when it comes to my next gen prospects. They only seem to keep increasing the price of these subs and I seem to get less and less out of them. I would much rather simply have free online gaming and not have to deal with them. So that's why I just stick with the basic subs on my consoles, it's a necessary evil in a sense.

The UI was one of like five points I mentioned. You keep bringing up as if I wrote a wall about the UI.

So, to answer your question, who knows? Bc you seem obsessed w that one point and keep bringing it up?
