Out of town and staying with family, which means I'm away from my custom router and it's blocking/protection. Using Edge with Ublock Origin and custom filters. No issues for me.

YouTube continues to become more obnoxious with ads not even just these playback ones but in the sheer number of ads in it's search results as well. Instead of adapting they just become a shitter and shittier experience necessitating the further need for ad block in the first fucking place. I hope they enshitify it to the point the website becomes worthless and actual alternatives pop up.

Am I the only one still just using chrome on MacOS with ublock origin and never once seeing ads on youtube or it refusing to play?

On the other hand when I get on youtube on my TV, there's like 45 second + unskippable ads. Collateral damage?

If it is an android TV or player, sideload SmartTube, skips all the ads without any issues. The worst I get is 5-10 seconds of black screen when starting a video the first time I open the app. Once that first video is played, I never get it again. It also has fairly accurate skip indicators for in-video ads (NordVPN, for example) or engagement reminders (make sure to like and subscribe!) if you don't want to put up with those either.

No idea if the app exists for Apple.

I'm still using Firefox/uBlockOrigin. I've seen brief threats for a day or two at a time but nothing persistent or recent. They can continue to fuck off.

They've marked Ublock on the chromestore as potentially being removed soon due to it "Violating their ToS". Still working flawlessly with Vivaldi.

I hope Rumble continues to grow and takes away a lot of YouTubes business.

No adblockers or anything. But a month ago till now, I'm finding random channels I'm subbed and bell on are not showing up in my subscription feed at all. I'll see them other random ways and be like wtf and double check feed not there....

I’m having that problem everywhere. Facebook will flat out not show me posts from friends, or alert me of a new post that was actually posted a month ago.

They want us angry.

Facebook is fucking cancer. They're trying as hard as they can to make it unusable. The other day 25 of the first 30 items in my feed were ads or "suggested" meme farms. If it weren't my only contact to family living abroad I'd delete my account entirely.

Facebook marketplace is the only way to do classified ads that anyone reads around here. If you are looking at an ad for something and you go to another tab to say, look up the price of the item new or something, when you come back to the tab you left the post you were looking at is gone and good fucking luck finding it again in less than an hour. It's maddening.

I posted a bike for sale here and immediately got hit with a dozen attempts at phone scams. Never was able to find an actual customer.
