Usually tops out around 105 in the summer here. Leaving the AC off all day and the highest I've seen the thermostat when I get home from work is 85. AC gets turned on in the 80-82 range until it's cool enough to open windows up.

I don't know how you can sleep with it at 79. Sometimes in the winter my sons room gets to 79 because of previously discussed heating issues and it feels like an oven.
