Cheap Meals: Eating on a budget.

That's better than what I did with my chicken thighs. Let them sit in the fridge for a week and now I'm going to feed them to my Mom's barn cats. I need to remember that when chicken is on sale it's because it's about to reach its sell by date and needs to be cooked or frozen immediately.

It's pretty hard to find anyone who even remembers WWII now. If you were 5 years old when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor you are in your late 80's now.

I wouldn't. Probably got an infection. It's not hard to kill a chicken. Unless it's multiple birds then finding a chicken dead is just part of having chickens. She could have had a heart attack or whatever.

    RIP Araysar

I didn't think I could have gotten shawed since I haven't been on the board in 3 days. I'd like to think I wouldn't have fallen for it if I wasn't up checking the heifers at 3 am. Also it was technically April 2nd. I'm actually smart guys!

When I used to go to Kansas City I thought Lamar's Donuts and Coffee were the best donuts anywhere. Haven't been for a long time though. Looked at their website and a dozen is $31 and if you want specialty donuts it's more so not a cheap option. I don't know if they used more fat in them...

As far as I can tell Netflix is the only streaming service that has cracked down on sharing. Both my girlfriend and sister are using my HBO Max account and my girlfriend uses my Paramount Plus and Peacock and I use her Hulu with no complaints so far.

Cheap Meals: Eating on a budget.

I've always made burritos by heating the filling first and then rolling them and eating them. I recently noticed that if you are making them with refried beans it's easier to roll them with the contents cold and then warm up the whole burrito. Probably not a big secret but it took me a long...

I tried to do that for my grandmother when she was in the nursing home. She was often confused about what day of the week it was so I got her an LED screen that just showed "Sunday, March 24, 2024, 8:00 PM. I set it up and asked her if she could read it and she was like "Yeah I can read it...

Cheap Meals: Eating on a budget.

My mom used to make chicken and dumplings with the older chickens that were too tough to fry. I think she just stewed the whole chicken and then made biscuit dough and dropped it in. I don't know if she thickened the broth or if the dumplings did it naturally. It was good though. Haven't had...

People are nasty shit back in the day. The Romans used a sauce called Garum like ketchup, and this is how you make it... Here's an article about hanging game birds which is still done, especially in England, and they do NOT gut them first. Sounds like it can go wrong pretty easily though...

Cube steaks are supposed to be cut up into chicken finger size and then dusted with flour and deep fried or pan fried. They're called "finger steaks" since you eat them with your hands and usually get dipped in ketchup or a mix of ketchup and pickle relish. They're actually pretty great.

My uncle raised some meat rabbits once and my Grandma cooked them up like fried chicken. Cooked like that it tasted about like fried chicken too. My girlfriends kids have pet rabbits and I don't think I'd feel bad butchering them. They are the most worthless pets ever, they just sit in...

I happened to watch the pilot of Star Trek: The Next Generation the other night and thought that Patrick Stewart has looked like he was 65 years old since 1987. He was actually only 47 when the show started but already bald with all grey hair in back. He then looked exactly the same for the...

To tackle now means you have to lift the player up and cradle them in your arms, then gently set them down on the turf, or better yet, carry them to their team's bench. You are not allowed to put any of your body weight on them at any point. New scoring records for everyone!

Cheap propane grills are pretty crappy. You will have wildly different temperatures on different parts of it. I have cooked on one a lot at my Mom's house and if you keep everything moving you can get shit cooked on it but I would never buy one. The only sub-$500 grill I would recommend is...
