Chiefs need an offensive line. They have plenty of skill position players. Their problem is the line allows the QB to get the shit absolutely kicked out of them.

When you have a qb who doesnt know how to read defenses and dont know what the fuck he is doing when he's forced to try to make a play it doesnt turn out well. Cassel and Brady sucked. Hell, the year before, when Cassel went down and "Palko and Orton" started the 2nd half of the 2011 year, they were only sacked i think 3-4 times in 7 games. That leads me to believe Cassel was the problem.

I don't follow pre season really. Never had before anyway but anything happening with the Chargers? They get a coach?
Tom Telesco is the new GM, Mike McCoy (former Broncos OC) is the new head coach, Ken Wisenhunt the new OC plus a few more changes in staff but those are the headliners.

Jets apparently closing in on a deal with David Garrard. This could turn it around for the Jets!

If Lulz was a real NFL stat, Jets would be an all-time franchise leader.

The Chiefs have very few skills players. Jamaal Charles is great, but you can't pound him for 300 carries a season, you have to have a servicable 2nd back to split carries.

The Chiefs receiving core is absolutely dreadful. Dwayne Bowe has talent but he is also a fan of taking a lot of plays off, this is also his contract year so he's going to be holding out in camp wanting a new deal, so not practicing with a new HC, OC, and QB means he'll be uselessto start the season. Beyond Bowe, the Chiefs have nobody to throw the ball to. No decent TEs(Moeaki is an underachiever and we released Kevin Boss), our WRs are shit(released Steve Breaston, and our 1st round pick from last year, Jonathan Baldwin, has done nothing so far to make you think he'll even be an average NFL WR). Our 2nd best WR last year behind Bowe was either Dexter McCluster or Terrence Copper(who?). Blech.

Our OL was decent. Brandon Albert was a good LT, but he's a free agent also, so he's probably gone if we draft Joekel(sp?), and the rest of the line is decent to average, there's no horrible gaping holes, theres also no pro-bowlers on the line so Joekel would be a nice upgrade overall.

Flacco deal all but done supposedly with just some language to sign off on. Supposed to be finalized Monday, will make Flacco the highest paid QB in NFL history.

lol. I think players like him should get paid. Just so long as it's not my team paying him. Congrats Trent Dilfer 2.0

Aren't you a Jets fan? Cause I don't remember that Sanchize contract being very small compared to his production.

Me? No. I'm far, far worse.

Born and raised in Philly. We sign troubled Felons and when they collapse and don't perform...we re-sign them.

Meh, until I see guaranteed numbers, that doesn't mean anything. No player ever gets paid the full amount.

Bowe going to Miami, and then getting injured the 3rd week of preseason. Out for 8-10 weeks.

An optimistic fan i see. More like injured 3 days in training camp, essentially ending his career, Ala Yatil Green.

Today's NFL allowed an impressive 4 game playoff series to erase Joe Flacco's entire less than dominant career beforehand.....he now has the largest contract in the history of the sport. I guess the guaranteed money details will come out later, but yeah.

Are teams like the Packers even going to be able to afford a 53 man roster when established elite players like Rodgers come up for new deals? This shit is going be the NFL's version of the housing bubble!

You guys know by now that structure of contract means everything and raw X dollars for Y years means nothing.

Joe's cap numbers will be manageable for 4 of the 6 years of this deal. Then he restructures after that.

Ozzie is smart about football and stuff.

Flacco has been a serviceable QB his entire career. This was the worst possible situation for the Ravens to be in though.Someonewas going to shell out money for him even if he hadn't won the SB this year, and we all know how hard it can be to even find a QB worth a damn so it was either pay up or take your chances. They had to pay up. The problem comes from the fact that he did win the SB, and got MVP to boot. So now they had to overpay to keep him, despite 4 years of average to good QB play. Classic case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'm sure the contract is friendly for the Ravens, there's still 52 other guys to pay after all. And I'm sure they won't get Sanchezed with the deal either. But there's a reason people clamored for him to just hand off to Rice all the time, and that Flacco is still in there, regardless of what happened this past year.
