Flacco has been consistent. What team do you root for? One that's never had to go through a decade of terrible QB's? I'm not going to sit here and tell you he's Brady/Rodgers/Brees/Manning (Peyton) but he is in fact consistent. After all the years of truly undependable QB's keeping Flacco was a no brainer. His contract isn't even that bad for a QB, it will get redone in three years as well. Don't look at the stupid totals, his cap number is less than Boldin was going to cost us and Joe's under 30 and has potential to thrive with the OC change, hopefully. If not we get to take him back to negotiations in a few years.
Agree with this...having a lot of friends who were Ravens fans, before the playoffs happened more than a couple were thinking you guys should let Flacco walk and try to find a better long term solution. Even after the playoffs, I agree he's not among the top 3 or 4 QB's in the league, but even before the playoffs happened, I disagreed with those friends. It's not like this is a good year for QB's in the draft, what really was going to be available in free agency or trade? The best you could have done otherwise might have been Alex Smith, but that would have been a sideways move at best, even before seeing what he did in the playoffs this year. Sure, the contract is an overreaction to a 4 game period where he played very well (and had plenty of good fortune at times too), but no matter what it was going to be the best move to keep him. Who were they going to find that was better?

But he did "beat em." Hate to break this to you, but the Ravens beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
Happy to see you posting! Sadly, it only seems to happen when you ridicule me, but hey, Im just glad you're here!

But yeah, im not that stupid. I was saying, if you cant beat em join em, as in, the 49ers got beat, so we are signing the players of the team that beat us, joining them in a way. If Reed gets signed it will make even more sense!

edit: Its actualy the second year in a row that Harbaugh and Baalke have taken this approach. We grabbed Manningham last year after the Giants beat us in the Championship game. Again, using players of the very team that ended their season.

Yeah, was just coming to post that he's likely to sign with the Dolphins. Sadly I think it's a bad pickup.

Can't wait to see what Jerry... wait, you mean they have less than a million in cap space? See you guys at the draft!

I think he will be fine. Hopefully this starts a trend back to the old days when FA lined up to go to the Dolphins. This could turn it around!

Hah, no one wants to go to Miami, it's a shit hole of a town since the big ole 'recession'. The entire eastern coast of Florida is trash, Daytona Beach has turned in to a ghost town, literally half the city is just empty, closed business, abandoned buildings, gangs. It's really sad actually.

Either way, I think they'll be paying too much for someone who they won't benefit from, I'd much rather they pickup a veteran receiver from FA and grab a rookie in the draft.

So Miami trades away Marshall for nothing and now is trying to sign Wallace?

Maybe they can trade him to the Bears a year from now for a pair of Capri Sun juice pouches and a handful of M&Ms

Speaking of Bears, they are trying to sign Martellus Bennett

I'm still angry about that Marshall trade, he was fucking out standing, like the best WR you can want for a rookie QB. He's physical and destroys defenders going for the ball, he's a guy that can easily make a catch that would have been an INT if thrown to anyone else. Just one of more thing on the massive list of fuckups Ireland has caused.

I'm almost 100% positive Buffalo will be picking up Ryan Nassib in the draft. Which I'm actually really fucking excited to see. Some home grown shit going down in Buffalo. Almost the entire Syracuse coaching squad and now Syracuse's QB~!

And then hopefully Syracuse's record which is .500 over the last 4 years

Looks like this is a done deal. Pretty happy about it too, Kellen Davis has been disappointing.
That's great to hear. Kellen has been a disappointment for sure, and a good TE is hard to find. Looks like they got the entire offense worked out now with exception of that pesky offensive line thing.

Looks like Wallace landed 11.5 million per year, 30 million guaranteed over 5 years. That's not to bad guarantee wise.

Edit: Cook looks to be next, Fasano to Chiefs.

Looks like Chicago's going after Jake Long too, of course Miami wont be able to keep him since they're spending their entire cap space on Mike Wallace. Sad.
