Hope the Niners grab Jesse Williams or Ertz next. I would be shocked if they passed on those guys with their next pick tomm morning. I dont think they will have a shot on the Honey Badger since they traded 74 to Cowboys.

Foggy you really think the Cowboys made the worse pick of the 1st round? How many centers have you cycled through the last 2 years? 10?
They still have a late 2nd and late 3rd, plus the 2nd pick tomorrow.

Looking deeper into that 42% of snaps for Jordan. ( Don't follow Oregon that closely) They had a bunch of blow outs last year. That's a major reason for the lower snap count, and was injured late in the year.

I wish they would of stayed at 18 and drafted a DT, but the guy they drafted is the best center in the draft (who can play both guard positions), and Wisconsin linemen don't bust. I really wanted them to take an O-linemen in the first round and they did so I can't be too mad - the Cowboys current Center's can't even be counted on to snap the ball correctly, it was their biggest need. They worked him out at Valley Ranch and probably had him graded as a high-mid round 2 and pick #31 might as well be round 2.

Still a shitty reach pick for need but this year was a weird draft with overvalued linemen and hardly any skill positions with first round grades.

9 offensive linemen went in the first round, holy fucking shit. The Bears, Giants and Dallas all reached for 2nd round OL minus the Cowboys reaching for a 3rd rounder. Not a single RB and 1 QB (that was clearly a reach) talk about a historic draft.

The only bright side (I had to get high as fuck to calm down) is this is a deep draft for OL/DL in the middle rounds, only bad thing is 2nd and thanks to the Cowboys 3rd round OL went in the 1st.

Fucking 49ers killing it with 2 picks in rd 2 tomorrow. My guess is Geno doesnt last past Jax or Philly at this first few picks. Still mad we got Jarvis Jones, fuck that stupid shit. Lebeau will be dead by the time this kid is ready to play. Gil Brandt who is pretty much the godfather of the draft, said he watched Jones tape and he a) never ran people down from behind and b) almost all of his sacks were beating RBs and TEs and he got shitsandwiched into the dirt against pretty much any and all tackles. Kevin Colbert is the most overrated person in football.

The Dolphins raped the Raiders hard on that trade. According to the draft pick trade value chart, the Raiders lost like 500pts on that deal
Eh, I don't think it's that big a deal.

The draft was about 10 likely successes and then 40 probable successes.

The Raiders therefore went from 1 likely success to 2 probable successes. Quite frankly, the Raiders need 2 decent guys more than the #3 pick and some guy off the street starting.

Honestly, if you want bad trades, SF/Cowboys looks bad (Cowboys picked up 1 maybe success but took a lesser player), and the Vikings/Patriots trade looks terrible. I can see that the Vikings are under a time crunch (if Ponder isn't the guy, there is no guarantee AP will still be a factor by the time the new guy is up to speed), but in a draft with a lot of mid-round WR options, giving them all up for Patterson seems iffy.

I have no idea who the Bucs will take with their 2nd round pick (#43 overall). No real huge glaring needs anymore after the offseason trades, except maybe DT or TE. Maybe even O-line. I'd be happy with Zach Ertz (TE from Stanford) in the 2nd round and a DT in the 3rd, either offensive line or RB in the 4th. Don't want Doug Martin to get run into the ground like Cadillac Williams did, considering only 383 yards of the team's total 1837 rushing came from someone other than Martin (151 of those Blount, 139 Freeman). If by some Christmas miracle Montee Ball is still there in the 4th he'd be a great pickup for damn near any team, but I don't expect him to make it past the 2nd round let alone the 3rd. Giovani Bernard would be a nice pickup in the 4th or 5th if possible as well.

Long story short:

2nd: TE/DT
3rd: ^ the other
4th: OL + RB (two picks in the 4th, 112 and 126 overall)
5th: CB
6th: QB + OLB
7th: Whatever at this point, more depth at RB or LB wouldn't hurt.

I'm so happy the Browns didn't take a QB that I'm not even pissed they didn't pair Milliner with Joe Haden. Mingo will be a good fit in Horton's defense. The Browns front seven could be downright nasty next year. I watched enough Georgia games to know I did NOT want Jarvis Jones to fall to the Steelers, but that's just a gut feeling since I haven't looked at him closely post-season. Outside of Buffalo and maybe Dallas i don't see any teams with a major reach this round, maybe not a lot of flash but solid players throughout.

I was baffled at the pick but then I read this over at BOB:

Travis Frederick is an extremely intelligent player. He's graduated early... twice. From high school as well as from University of Wisconsin, the latter with a degree in engineering. From what I've read and heard, he's not going to make mistakes on line calls and will get everyone on the line doing what they need to do.
Now I'm in that "wait and see" line of thinking since we haven't had a Center who could do that since before Romo took over (Kosier did it with Gurode at Center).

That said, my take from yesterday is that Minnesota got raped by the Patriots when they went back into the first round. Jesus, how the hell do you pull the trigger on giving up your next 3 picks and a 7th in ANY case?

Lol he can make line calls, hurray he can do his job. Now if only his brain power fueled his unathletic legs so he had the ability to pull and reach the second level.

Oh and he is the slowest center in the last 20 years and he lifted less than some WRs. Yup, he is going to be great! He won't make it to his second contract.

Why the fuck does NFL network have a fashion break down of people going to the draft. What the flying fuck.
Have you watched NFL AM? I would estimate that about 35% of the discussion is about either clothes or dancing.

Upon researching who this future below average NFL center is, I find Mayock has him rated as a late third rounder. So for those counting at home, Jerrah parlayed the number 18 pick, with the highest rated DT in the draft still available, into a late 3rd round talent and a 3rd round pick.

To those stupid fucking Cowboys fans that wanted Jerrah to trade back, please use your worthless fucking fists to punch yourself in your fucking dumb faces and follow that up with a cunt punch right in your dumb vaginas because there is no way men could be so dumb about American football.

I'm not mad, I'm full on raging right now.
Well, Jerry did say that he was picked right about where they (they being Jerry Jones) valued him at..... so we got that going for us, because if nothing else that senile old cod-piece knows how to evaluate talent. Right Felix?

Fuck the Cowboys. Fuck Jerry, and Fuck the draft.

I guess the more I think about it the more I like what the Rams did, Fisher sure doesn't shy away from guys with character issues, but it worked out last year. (so far)

Just hope Tavon Austin lives up to the hype, I fear Sam Badford overthrowing him and getting him killed.
Tavon was the best player in the draft this year, period. Dude is fucking fun to watch.

If that is actually true they should fire the entire scouting department.

He was rated as going in the 24-30 range before the Combine, and the Cowboys personally worked him out and had him #22 on their board. It wasn't as big a reach as you people are making it out to be. Both Pete Konz and Kevin Zeitler from Wisconsin were considered "reaches" in the first round last year - both of those guys have been great.

If you are mad because you don't think they got equal value in the trade down, it just depends on what chart you are using. Yeah if you use Jimmy Johnson's chart from the early 90s they lost on the trade, but it's 2013 and trade value charts that actual NFL teams are using have evolved. Not to mention trading down in this draft was going to get you less back than some other years because of the quality and amount of people trying to trade back.

It was still a slight reach and not drafting by best player available, so be mad about that I guess. Don't blame them for not taking Sharif Floyd because everyone else passed on that supposed top-5 talent for some reason - maybe his lack of sacks or his character concerns.

Yeah near as I can tell from the things I've read is that they left 3 of their top rated players from their own board behind when they dropped to 31, who of course weren't around when things came back to them. This pick has me torn between thinking its the worst they've made since the "backup draft" in the mid 90s and giving them the benefit of the doubt since, hey, they supposedly make a living at this shit.

I still can't get over how badly Minnesota got raped on that trade with the Patriots. Or why in God's name the Bills decided they needed THAT QB in the middle of the first round.
