Here's a crazy stat for you: Romo threw only 83 passes last year with a lead, and managed to turn those into 5 come from behind victories - and put the Cowboys in position to win 3 others on the last drive (Overtime vs the Saints, Dez game winning TD vs Giants being called off from his finger being out of bounds, and Dan Bailey missing last second FG vs the Ravens). He and Dez single-handedly rattled off 5 wins (3 vs the AFC North) late last season just to make Week 17 vs the Redskins relevant. Even so, in the last 4 years, he still has the highest 4th quarter passer rating among active QBs, and only 1 less 4th quarter comeback than Eli. His reputation in those situations is pretty terrible and it's mainly because the 4 times he has melted down it was on national TV. If instead he just took a sack instead of trying to make a play to win a game and throwing a pick, the Cowboys still lose, but his rep is different.Except Romo who throws picks, pick sixes and bobbles snaps on extra point attempts at the worst possible times....so consistently its almost as if he's trolling or has money on the games.
Would love to see the source for that stat. The last 3 years, Romo has taken risks with the ball because he has to - If he doesn't the Cowboys literally can't win, because of a defense that doesn't get turnovers or hold leads and the worst run game in franchise history (only 1250 yards gained total last year).
The last time he had a competent defense and offensive line he had 31 TD/10 INT and won a playoff game. He can manage a lead and not turn the ball over if he's given the chance, but recently he's forced into being the gunslinger just to win games.
Which one? If it's the one about passes thrown with a lead, it was in a few ESPN columns this week so I assume it's from ESPN Stats & Information.Would love to see the source for that stat.
Ravens D was terribad last year. Fucking Charlie Batch led a last minute game winner drive against us too. Would you like to white knight his old ass? Anyway, I was talking about games where the season is on the line. I know there's only so many in his history to draw on and all but I'm sure he's clutch in hypothetical land.
Yeah the 83 passes with a lead, a link would be awesome, ill search for it though.Which one? If it's the one about passes thrown with a lead, it was in a few ESPN columns this week so I assume it's from ESPN Stats & Information.
83 passes with a lead vs. 422 while trailing.
Colts either massively underachieved that year or tanked heavily for Luck.Probably because Luck was a rookie, on a team that had gone 2-14 the year before, that was forced to rely on a ton of rookie starters, had one of the shittiest o-lines in the league, and made it to the playoffs year 1. Oh and he has the promise of becoming better.
