Isn't it pretty much a given at this point that the number 1 pick will be Bridgewater?
It depends. Clowney is still in the running. It's still a fairly deep QB class even with some guys staying in college, so if a team likes a likely second rounder.

Also Clowney and Watt is a fucking disgusting thought.

I hope not, for the Texans sake. I've got zero confidence in 'Johnny Football' at the NFL level. He'll self-implode in the publicity he brings on himself.
Yeah, that's really what I'm thinking too. I dunno, he could be Russell Wilson, but at the same time, he could be Akili Smith. Then again, they didn't draft hometown boy Vince Young, thank fucking christ, but it would just be the perfect storm of shit to cap off this disastrous season if they used the #1 pick on Manziel.

Bridgewater put up another mediocre (college standards)game last night. And this is not his first unimpressive game either this year. He might not be as good as people think he is

Any QB with a good defense and rushing game will win games. If you take that away from Wilson, he wouldn't look as good as he does.

Wilson's been good for sure, but not MVP level like people are pretending. Manning's got like 1500 yards and 20 td on him and the way analysts talk it's like they're neck and neck. I don't think Wilson could carry a team like Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers

I wanted Bridgewater before Schaub was benched and Kubiak was fired, now I'm having doubts after last nights game. Though he was without a doubt the reason they were able to win that came (and his arm strength seems insane from that side arm TD he tossed). When we started sliding at the beginning of the season I expected a pick in the 7-12 range and was trying to talk myself into Johnny Football, now it seems like a top 2 pick for sure

I don't know why Schaub is getting such a hard time though, this was clearly a great decision with 2 minutes on the clock and a chance to save your job and the game!

Kubiak should have been canned 2-3 seasons ago. And Schaub too.

While I'm not 100% on Keenum, he's had enough snaps and played well enough sans Foster and OD to be the starter for 2014. None of the QBs in the draft, to me, will be ready to go OR bring something that Keenum doesn't. We need to address as many needs as possible (O-Line, LBs) rather than go for Clowney, etc.

See you in hell Kubiak!

Him or John Gruden are probably the favorites to be hired. Other names that are being trotted out are Jay Gruden, Bill O'Brian, and Mike Zimmer.

One thing that the owner, Bob McNair, said is that they are going to be looking at coaches with NFL experience. College experienced coaches, need not apply.

Mike Zimmer.

Sorry Tea.
I think that's likely.

It was a good run for the defense.

Wilson agrees with you. When asked about his MVP candidacy his response was that he wasn't even the MVP of his own team, that would be Lynch.

I'm a bit confused.

Firing your coach before the season is over makes sense when you are going after the college pool, because you can get first crack at them and you can interview them during a relative dead period.

Firing your coach when you are limiting yourself to NFL only coaches doesn't, really. If you are going after, say, Mike Zimmer, unless the Bengals somehow would luck into a bye, there's only like one day he can come in for an interview, and that day is set whether the Texans fired Kubiak in September or on Black Monday.

(It's not like Wade Phillips needs 10 days, rather than 7, to get used to being interim coach. Pretty sure your Wade level stays flat regardless if it is 10 days, 7 days, or 1 minute, as in the SNF game.)

They will be looking at the college pool. It will be HC's that were coordinators at the NFL level.
