Yeah, I think you draft the fuck out of Clowney, QB be damned. You're basically looking at having another DeMarcus Ware on your team for the next 10 years and change if the guy ends up meeting his potential.

You are a moron if you think Suh is even close to Clowney's league as a prospect. Peppers was on a completely different level than Suh as well and I don't think he was as good coming out as Clowney will be. Clowney would have been the first non-Qb taken in the last two drafts, maybe even straight out of HS as well.
Straight out of high school? Are you fucking kidding me? I bet you are the same person argues for the best college team could beat the worst pro team. Simmah down now and ease up on your hyperbole.

Let's see how the SEC handles Clowney after getting another year of film on him and see how much regression, if any, he has.

Suh brute forced his way through any and all Big 12 lines as 1 Technique NT and is still doing it in the pros.

Clowney is amazing but lets calm down a bit.

On defense its usually not even the highly touted guy who makea a huge impact. Look at JJ Watt and how Texans fans bood him when he got drafted. Now he is the defensive MVP of the league and isnt even near his prime yet. Look at Aldon Smith, a name no one was really mentioning coming out of Missouri and now has the most sacks in the first 2 years of his career than anyone else in history.

The list goes on and on. I mean there are guys like Patrick Willis and Ware who live up to high expectations, but for every Willis there is usually a Bowman (3rd round selection, same production, a fraction of the cost). Clowney might be all world or he might be a Geno Atkins, someone who is solid and makes Pro Bowls but isnt lighting up games and getting headlines. Plus clowney is going to play for a godawful team. Most likely the Browns, Dolphins, Cardinals, Chargers, Bills or Jags. So he isnt gonna be able to get into a top-notch system and have help like an Aldon Smith or Watt.

I think whoever drafts firstshouldtake Clowney. I don't think he's the preeminent defensive player of this decade though.

But unless Pryor plays to the level of Cam Newton when he gets his starts, or Cutler gets bounced from the Bears and says "Fuck it, give me my money and I'll go through the motions in Oakland", I think the situation in Oakland will be so ugly that they have to bring in a rookie QB and present it as a reboot.

I don't think you realize just how good Atkins was last year. It was the best showing for an interior defensive lineman in decades; he graded out more than twice as high as the next best DT. To call him solid is like calling AD solid. Clowney is mighty fine looking end, but I'm not buying the once in a generation/ lifetime player either. #1 sure.

I will always route for the lions till they win something. Still not sure why, it could growing up watching Barry and loving it, or the whole they haven't won shit.

EDIT Mr T is PG so I went with piss on instead of pity.

Jason Hanson was there for 20+ years while Akers is still competing with Sven for the starting spot
Sven won't get the starter spot, he'll get cut and then Green Bay will pick him up.

Also I've commited to wearing Lions gear to every Vikings game I go to this year and cheering for whoever they play against....except the Bears. I can't cheer for the Bears. I should get a lot of shit for it since I'll be working with some of their people as we provide wi-fi for the Metrodome and I am the go between between their offices and my boss. I was already banned from their pressbox (jokingly I hope). LoL

I actually didnt realize Akers was made captain of the special teams - I thought he was made captain of the whole team.

Anywho, Bears will climb a top of NFC North. GB and Minnesota are both regressing, and Lions look about as good as Michael Hastings' car.

It's a toss up on who comes out on top, I'm failry sure the Packers wont though.
Then who? Vikings? Lions?

Looking at GB roster, is actually quite telling. If they didn't have Aaron Rodgers, that's a 6-10 team right there. That roster looks barely better than the Browns or Raiders.

Their defence is still something that is going to keep them in most games, I agree with you on Rodgers but the same could be said for the Pats and Brady. -shrug-

And apparently the people there don't even like Rodgers. Yay media!

In more important news, the Steelers traded for Felix Jones. I'm really excited about this. It's still 2010, right?

Felix Jones is a good back... but he won't be on the field for more than 4 weeks in the AFC North.

Get ready for a Golden Shower and Cutler on a stretcher.
