Glad you called yourself out as a multi-team faggot. I don't even know what team you root for except for against 49er fans.

I'm a Chargers/49ers fan in the playoffs at this point. Cali Bowl in New York would be great.
Eric Weddle played for the Utes, so I'm also a lifelong Chargers fan at the moment.

Chargers fan obviously. Hopefully they play better this week. Rivers had a really crappy game against the Bengals. I don't think that will be the case against Denver since you can pass all day long against them.

I've said it before I think the 49ers are a good team. Their offense suffers from being flat at times as much Seattles does. The myth of Seattle being unable to win on the road is in the past. They lost 2 games on the road this year. Less than probably anyone in the playoffs besides the Panther's or Bronco's. That being said I think Carolina and Seattle are the best teams in the Playoff's. That is my personal opinion. I would put San Francisco at 3rd thanks to their defense.
49ers actually only had 2 losses on the road as well. They were just lame and managed to lose 2 at home as well.

Well, Rodgers and Dilfer have the same amount of rings. Dilfer has a better post season win/loss ratio though!
Packers fan, obviously, though I have sort of adopted the Chargers as my local root for team.

For the record, I think Dilfer was a smart QB, just not physically talented. He also had a far superior coach to McFatty at the time. Dilfer was underrated, in a lot of ways, honestly. Of course rings are not exactly a measure of anything or we would have to crown Terry Bradshaw as one of the all time QB greats....

Regarding the Seattle road myth, yeah the only teams they dominated on the road this year were the Falcons, Giants, and _maybe_ the Cardinals (who they also lost to at home). They struggled against the likes of the Rams and Texans on the road. Not exactly dispelling the myth there, I would say. In fact the only playoff team they beat on the road was the Panthers on opening day, well before Carolina found its groove, and that game was a struggle. Even the woeful Chargers had a harder road schedule and they managed to put up more wins against playoff teams than the sea chickens did this year. New Orleans has the same issue, they were just lucky enough to pull the inept Eagles as their first playoff game.

He entered the league with a hell of an arm and while in college set the all time completion percentage record (which has since been broken). He was a prime prospect for sure. He just always had poor pocket presence and accuracy issues. I don't think anyone thought accuracy was going to be an issue based on his college play, but then again its not like the WAC has the greatest competition.

He made one pro bowl with Tampa (not that this means much other than he did play pretty well one year) and then became the only QB in history to be cut by his team after winning a super bowl. He had a legit chance of resurrecting things in Seattle, but injury issues allowed Hasselback to grab the spot and Trent never really recovered from that. He had a son die during this stretch too.

He lucked into that super bowl, but he wasn't a horrible QB. Just the way things played out he never really got the chance to prove that.

Dilfer is my favorite player ever. No lie.

Plus he was instrumental in developing the total QBR stat, so he's likely hall of fame bound just based on that.

Just reading the headline it makes sense tho, he is on the roster for what 50+ million guaranteed over the next few years? Hasn't played a full season of games since joining the Bears and has no playoff experience, Luck has more at this point.

Oh, I agree with the headline. I was just thinking it was a cheap shot to the nutsack of Bear's fans.

I lived in Fresno when he was in college. His girlfriend (now wife) was a coach for a swim team I was on. He would come out and throw a ball around with us kids. Sign autographs. That sort of thing. Since then he and my dad have remained in contact and golf together every once in a while. I wouldn't call the Dilfers family friends or anything but it was enough of a reason for me to follow his career.

Like I said a couple weeks back, GB and the rest of the NFC North hope Chicago overpays all their veterans. Them turning into Atlanta North (two great WRs, good but not top tier QB, and no depth after that) has been fantastic to watch.
