Lamar shouldn't bet on himself with the current state of the AFC. It's entirely possible they finish third in the division and miss playoffs.

Lamar is negotiating for himself, though I'm sure he's getting advice from others. The team has publicly said they've contacted Lamar multiple times about getting a contract together but he keeps putting it off. General thought now is, rather than sign a big contract before this season he's going to risk seeing how this season goes and if he makes the playoffs he's going for broke on a new contract. Something to make Watson's look puny by comparison.

sounds like another RG3 waiting to happen. rather the dude get paid now for his sake.

I could see this going the Kirk Cousins route. Ravens just tag him for 2 years and let him walk. Draft a QB this year or next and groom him.

Honestly, this might be the best track to take long term for them. Go for it with Lamar for the next couple years, but don't get stuck into a long term deal when he's likely to be injured or just past his prime where he can make as many plays with his legs. The guy is a better passer than some give him credit for, but still not seeing a progression from him in the passing game that makes me think he'll be able to keep up once the running goes.

Pretty nuts that Josh Allen is the only QB in that draft to get a second contract so far.

Denzel Ward got paid big today. I know he is pretty good, but is he top of the market CB good?

Not sure I really care who it is provided it is not Direct TV.

be cool if it was just baked into the sub rather than being a secondary purchase like Sunday Ticket already is cause then i could mooch off a family member's login. otherwise i'll just stick to the same pirate streaming site i've always used.

I was assuming it would be baked in and maybe they will up the monthly cost $1 or something if that

No one who gets paid top of the market is ever really top of the market. It’s just want desperate teams do to retain talent. Ward is really good though. Just gets hurt a lot.

It was $300 a year on DirecTV. If Apple made it $1 that would be pretty remarkable and Apple isn't really know for making things cheaper. I'm just hoping that they'll let you subscribe to only your team for less money.

Except Directv are complete idiots and wouldn’t be losing it if they had been forward thinking even remotely.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens with Watson. Read last week, unless they reach a settlement, none of the civil trials will happen until 2023.

The NFL saw the Browns try to loophole is contract into only being a $1 cap hit for 2022. Wait until 2023 to punish him!

I mean they fully expected him to be suspended with how the contract is worked but if he ends up on the exempt list waiting for the cases to be finished then he gets suspended even after that, doubt zero of the other owners would have a problem with that.(if not out right encourage it)

I guess that depends on what the 49'ers are willing to pay tho, ya? Him not giving a number seems like Schefter doing the 49'ers a favor for other information down the road or something like that.

I'm not going to get worried unless they go into training camp without him signed.
