Easter Island as Atlantis? I didn't realize that Easter Island was part of a sunken land mass. That's interesting.

How am I missreading...

"a team of archeologists using advanced AI software have identified over 300 previously identified NAzca line petroglyphs"

I said the blurb reads wrong. If it said unidentified, It would be right. It's says identified though which is wrong.

I normally like jimmies videos but fuck me, is he on the gear or something?
Stumbling his words and over animated.

And since when has he been doing adds for companies? Yes everyone needs to make money I get it but fuck that was painful.

Then, jewtube adds kick in.
One is for bloody Photoshop.. bahahaha because we need to quietly tell you all these pictures are shopped and not real..
WTF

Jimmy is not a scientist and has never claimed to be one. All he is is a presenter of these interesting ideas. Ideas that have merit in many instances. You can't really debunk him because he only leads you to make your own conclusions.

Wasn't trying to debunk him, just noticed he seemed different in this video. I do normally enjoy his videos but this one shit me a bit. I kept trying to see his eyes to see if he was high.
The jewtube add was a completely different subject not conveyed very well on my behalf

Finally got round to watching this one. Yes he seems way too excited and it doesn't seem he used a script and is doing this off the cuff. I dunno what jew tube is, but I don't see any evidence of narcotics. dude loves this stuff and gets excited about it.

So this video is overfull with sponsor breaks and beeps. I've seen one other show with the Hillman on it and it was also very censored (probably for good reason).

Fascinating stuff, but I think reading these old works has at least partially driven the man insane. He's a bit nutty.

The subject matter is all about how drugs were an essential part of religion, and medicine was religious in nature. The synthesis of many of the drugs involved some extremely unethical practices, but had some very amazing effects if the texts can be believed.

Most of the medical texts have either been translated poorly or just ignored for thousands of years. There are still quite a few left untranslated and more are likely coming through the herculaneum discoveries soon.

One of his wackiest ideas is that the old testament was written originally in greek around the third century. He talks about this around 56 minutes in. In another podcast he was on he talked about how old hebrew didn't really even exist at the time it was supposed to have been written, and didn't have enough complexity to produce the greek version (which supposedly was a translation of the hebrew).

I don't know about the whole use of kids thing, but integration of drugs/psychedelics seem to be pretty established by now. Brian Muraresku's book is a fantastic read on the subject, I highly recommend it. You can get a good feel for it in his various podcast appearances and talks at various places:

This guy is pretty great. Lots of cool info without any "this is how things are and everyone else is wrong!".

I listened to a really long rogan with that guy on it. I think I sort of came at all this backwards. Cool stuff!

Muraresku seems to be hunting for ingredients via art and such, but Hillman has actually found the full formulae to some of this stuff. The trouble is the human synthesis bit, and two of the plants being lost.

Here's hoping Herculaneum turns up some more good medical stuff.

Yeah, Muraresku came in from the ancient texts Latin/greek/sanskrit scholar side and less actually physical archaeology but has/does work with archeo-chemists (whatever the term is). I recall specifically a good bit of discussion on trying to figure exactly which plants were being referred to and if they’re even still around anymore.

If you enjoyed him on Rogan the book is worth a read/listen. I highly recommend.
