Yeah we have a moderately sized guild running around doing Archeage things. Like Kedwyn said we're trying to limit the number of people recruiting, this is for a few reasons. Primarily it's because ESO is our current game and we're geared toward that. Archeage is just the next game for us, even though it's quickly approaching and looks to be much, much better than ESO.

However, returning PRX like yourself are welcome to re-apply the same as before, as long as you're in alpha currently.
Excellent, I'll re-apply once I get back home on Friday.

I haven't had a game hook me like this since vanilla WoW, I blew 10 hours yesterday and didn't' even realize I was sitting that long.

Isn't that a good thing though? Vanilla WoW is my favorite MMO of all time so if AAge combat is like vanilla WoW, that is a positive to me.
I didn't say it was good or bad, I just said it's like wow. Some people like it, some don't, but it definitely plays like wow is what I mean, no dodging, no active projectile stuff, no mouse look targetting and so on, it's purely wow with cool combo interactions between skills which is where the depth of the classes shows.

I haven't seen everything but from the little I've seen, I much prefer the choices they made than the ones Wildstar made for example. In wildstar the combat is a lot more dynamic, movement based etc but the abilities are dreadfully boring, the classes are boring, the "build" aspect is terrible(and it also irrelevant since you can swap on the fly). Here you have the contrary, the combat is everything but original, it's the old tab targetting press skills they go on cooldown, GCD on everything but a few instant abilities and so on, but you have a ton of freedom on how you play your class, both in terms of what 3 classes you pick and which skills you pick within the class since you don't unlock everything, you have 48total skills(15 of these are passives) and only get 23points at 50.

Lets just say last night I was going to do a couple things and then head to bed. 1 Hour later I finally finish, because I ended up getting different seeds, find somewhere to play my farm, water all my seeds and check to see if my chickens had grown up yet so I could harvest their eggs and then butcher them for meat.

If Alpha had been $50 or 60$, I'd be in. $150 I feel like Trion is losing money by asking so much.
I would guess they want to keep numbers somewhat in check. They could easily make a package that removes the cash shop credits and 90 sub and you would have a $30 package for the rest, but there would probably be way too many. Thus they just do the lower packages for beta weekends.

First 30 seconds impression:

I just saw you guys fighting over a quest spawn that had a bunch of people waiting, looked like you were the only one who 'tagged' it, rest had to wait.
Yellow (!) quest givers.

That is all

Im mostly joking, I'll check out the reviews / pvp info, but at first glance, eww.

It seems like a fuck ton of people dropped that 150 dollars. Playing yesterday it was kind of full of people, but logging on today it's PACKED.

I don't have the advantage of having played Arch-Age Russia or K-Archage so you already had the basics down.

With that being said some questions.
You did this all in 1 day you say? May I ask how many hours you played please to hit 26 can get your crafting for armor sets?
Saturday, I ended playing pretty much all day...maybe 10 hours or so, I usually don't that, which is pretty much why I didn't play much today(sunday) as I had to catch up on things I didn't do on Saturday.

It's pretty much just through questing, and overachieving on pretty much all the quest, and also getting tons of Hidden Quest done at the same time for killing an unknown amount of mobs in an area...just by overachieving I ended up doing tons of those. I mined everything sometimes, running around a few times when I entered caves for quests.

The thing about the combat is that while it's not innovative, it's the usual tab targeting...it's all about execution, and here it's top notch. It's one of those things where good execution > bad innovation.

Yeah quest credit and shit is like old school too, no sharing, whoever tags it first(and it's almost always a fucking archer) gets credit. On the upside respawns are like super fast. There's also generally a lot of alternative spawns, it's less theme parky than wow quests, or I should say the kill quests aren't as specific and crafted in detail, so it's like "kill this type of bandits" and then you get into an area where it's just those bandits in a fairly large area(but in small camps, so if you camp somewhere and there's 3people and you stay there it sucks dicks, but if you mount up and run around for 15secs you'll find more camps).

Quest givers certainly have the !. They even have a fucking beam of light coming down on them so you can spot them from far away easily. Quests are absolutely shit too, like there's a "story" questline that tells some weird ass story with non subbed non dubbed still drawings, a bit like GW2 style stuff but other than that it's the bare minimum, guy asks you to go kill 8 kobolds and that's about it. However you don't get like 50quests, generally each hub literally has 2 to 3 quests, the story quest that showed you the hub(which might or might not have a quest in the area, otherwise it sends you to next hub right away) and 2 basic quests in the area, one of which involves killing shit and the other collecting shit, and they're sometimes done both at the same time(collect these items that also drop on the mobs). It's very much directed grinding with a bonus for doing it, like old wow. Grinding mobs seems relatively viable, quests don't give that much xp and you travel quite a lot, but I haven't tested for sure. I wanted to do the dungeon too but haven't had a chance.

The quests complete fast though, TTK is fast, distance from the camp to the quest area is generally short and amount of mobs required is so far pretty low but if you overachieve the quests then it gets more traditional numbers. Like the most I've had to kill atm was 8 and it's quite often 6 instead, but with overachieve that becomes 9 to 12, matter of taste, since I like the combat I generally do it. So there's a good flow to it, at least what I've played(I'm 24 or so). You get levels fast too so that helps.

I don't work for Trion but you get a 3 month Patron pass sub which is everything just like rift, they give you headstart all the founder goodies and then to boot they throw in another 14,000k in credit for the cash shop for stuff like potions to mounts to pets etc that would be so many dolllars in rift to for that many credits alone for there cash shop.

I am ok with it.

Well managed to hit 31, made my level 30 armor set, and did the jury quest...didn't called to be a juror though as I just completed the quest as I was done for the evening.

I think the contested zones soon. Curious to see how that works out.

That's great to hear. I didn't hate FFXIV tab targeting. the execution is the big shit or you get garbage like Wildstar...

Define what you mean by "good execution"? Does that mean abilities fire off when you press the button and each ability has unique WoW quality animations?

Zombie build. Read on several badly translated Russian AA forums that this it excellent for farming. Note* This is a PvE build I think. From what I've read practically anything can survive in PvE but this can handle some gankers to? Maybe..

Is this worth putting down $150? It was my second coming when I first saw it. Also will alpha characters be wiped for launch? I'm guessing most likely?

There is talk about the alpha-server converting to a PTS (including the chars, so no wipe) once the game goes live. I cant tell if that is just an idea from Trion right now or if they will really do it this way...

It really depends it was worth it for me as I had nothing to play skipped ESO, was doing TOR class revists.. I'm enjoying myself and I'm not out of the starter area's I'm a re roller in the true sense of the world.

First impressions gave me a Tera ui meets rift class system meets old skool mmo combat mechanics with skill combo's being the flavor. Combat is responsive and on point, graphics are great really immersive, I enjoy the old skool quest system as after awhile I don't care why I'm collecting bear asses and I don't want to listen an npc sad story. This is very low level stuff but I played most of the day Sunday which I haven't done in MMO since TOR came out.

The only potential problem I see is the CC issue (stun locked) which make will/aura a must have but I havent pvp'd so I'm just guessing here.

Also ran across a build generator if anyone want to post idea's or other good stuffArcheAge Simulator - Arche-Base

I know ESO is rerolled(s) game ATM but if we get a guild rollin let me know.
