I would lift at 5 AM, mainly because your gym is going to be less crowded, and there's nothing better than getting your workout out of the way in the morning. You have no excuse to miss it, where as the end of the day you can fall into the "I have a lot of shit to do," or "I'll go tomorrow, I'm exhausted" routine. I've fallen into myself, which is why I can't wait to be done with the school year Friday. Dedicating these next two and a half months to packing on lean fucking size.

Or you could go late at night. Gyms clear out around 7-8pm. I used to go in around 8 or so and it was pretty awesome. Going super early in a fasted state blows ass. It's decent if your goal is to lose fat, but if you're more focused on putting on muscle, that's not ideal.

It varies gym to gym. Nowadays my gym is crowded until 9pm. Not overflowing crowded, but crowded enough so that you have to wait for a power rack or bench. It starts dying down between 9 and 10, but it closes at 10 - 11 (depending on the day) so that doesn't leave you much time for working out.

Anyway, I'm with Itlan: I like lifting in the morning just because it lets me get it out of the way. You never know when unexpected shit is going to arise throughout the day that will eat into your evening time and make it hard to hit the gym.

I prefer to lift in the afternoon. Hitting the gym in the AM means me getting up at 5am.

Quick question:

Would a good indicator of decent upper body strength be able to bench your own body weight?

As I said, I've been lifting for about a year now and at the start I was struggling to bench 70lb (I was a lardass). Today I managed to hit 165lb for 3 reps and my weight is fluctuating around 170lb. It's slow progress and still feel like a weakass as my gym partner benches around 190lb and weighs about the same as me (he has been going to the gym much longer than I have though).

Interesting table.

According to that table, I am a novice in all the compounds that I do heh.

That's pretty spot on for where you should be IMO man. That 1st year or so usually gets you to your body weight doing reps. From there, what I have noticed from my friends, and myself, is a spike in a few more months. Then you level off and hit a wall.

I think they say body weight bench is what the "average" male can do. I've never understood that though, when the average person is now like 800 pounds in the US. But I'd say the ability to bench your body weight is becoming increasingly rare and you should be pretty happy that you've come that far. Now shoot for 1.5!

I also like the Exrx charts better. They're still ridiculous though, because nothing I do in the gym should be considered even close to advanced.

Ark or anyone out there, what is the best bang for my buck im looking for bulk creatine monohydrate, i ordered up some con-crete micro dosing creatine because there was no water retention, GI issues etc but it was pretty expensive for the serving sizes etc, so i wanna try out something else but im looking for bulk.

I know you linked thishttp://www.truenutrition.com/p-1047-...100-grams.aspxand im curious if brahma had tried it yet

No one listens. Google that shit if people think I'm dumb.

Creating Monohydrate HYDRATES your muscles. Water retention is the whole point.

It doesn't have to be TN, there's nutra planet, smartpowders, anywhere you can buy a bulk amount of CM is the only thing worth buying.

I did not get the TN stuff. There is a vitamin shoppe down the street from me. I snagged this for 17 bucks.

I have been using it a week or so now? I've been doing 5g before and after. It works.

I stopped using the green stuff.

Intermediate on every lift according to that chart, but 1-rep max is a strange judgement.

I just started training for hypertrophy again after doing 5x5 for a couple months, and let me tell you... I feel like a total pussy in the gym. The intensity and endurance is just worlds apart, so the weight had to go WAY down.

Think I'm getting back into the swing of things, but man were my muscles fucking destroyed that first week.

Do you think Creatine works? I feel like I get boated everywhere when I take it. I did notice some gains in the gym, though.

Yes it absolutely works. I have JUST started using it a couple months, and the results are at least that fast. It WILL bloat you. It bloats you because you are "holding" (hydrating) water in your muscles.

I havent added any weight to my exercises in like 2 months. Doing SS with my bro 3x a week and at 175lb Im stuck @195 bench on my working sets. I want to break 200 so bad, its annoying. Some days I cant even finish my 5th reps.

I guess I need to be taking more than just whey protein.
