Power of editorial mandate!Well, cap is higher than "on the bottom" unless you're talking strictly raw power. But even then it's a little vague. But there's a reason why every marvel character respects cap. His leadership abilities are literally unparalleled.
But this gets into batman preparedness levels... So I digress.
I am talking strictly raw power, as in, the ability to effectively fight those giant worm dudes in Avenger's 1. Really the only time Captain America does anything that spectacular power-wise he's using his OP shield which could theoretically stop a train dead in its tracks through the power of bullshit.Well, cap is higher than "on the bottom" unless you're talking strictly raw power. Gayest thing ever written on this forum.I'm assuming it'd be illegal for Marvel to have an Andrew Garfield cameo walking on the streets in <insert MCU movie here> and passing by say, Steve Rogers and saying hey what's up. Then Rogers turns around and gives him a weird look like "there's something odd about that guy." Would be a pretty big middle finger to Sony. Or hell even have it be Tobey Maguire.
If Dr Strange is the Earth's Sorceror Supreme, Steve Rogers is the Earth's Fighter Supreme. They used to say that he was the highest skilled fighter on the planet, that was of terrestrial origin (doesn't apply to Thor, he's Asgardian). He believes in himself, even when he shouldn't. I remember in Infinity Gauntlet, he was the last one standing versus Thanos, the Hulk and Thor were already KO'd.I am talking strictly raw power, as in, the ability to effectively fight those giant worm dudes in Avenger's 1. Obviously Captain isn't measured by his ability to deliver a punch and has other strengths that Thor/Hulk don't have. Even Stark isn't limited by his default fighting ability, he overcomes problems by inventing new tech on the fly.
Where as Thor/Hulk? If it's a problem they can't smash (or in Thor's case, get daddy to bail him out) they're SOL.
If you didn't immediately start hearing the song below playing in your head, you're not arealcomic nerd:This made me really sad for some reason :-/
Cap is awesome at being stalwart, but that's not really an example of anything. Thanos was fucking around and admitted later that's the only reason he lost the fight, a self-conscious desire to. Hulk, Thor, Cap were all equally insignificant to him, Cap being the last man standing is really only a function of Thanos allowing it.If Dr Strange is the Earth's Sorceror Supreme, Steve Rogers is the Earth's Fighter Supreme. ^^ He's got a point. Hell, they were all just distractions for the cosmic entities, and really, Adam. I agree with your point Lyrical, just a bad example. Though I do wonder what happens in a Cap vs Taskmaster fight. I'm sure it's out there somewhere (he's a Cap villain isn't he?).Cap is awesome at being stalwart, but that's not really an example of anything.
