i think that was an obvious reference, and i mean, it could be, but outside of that, she has dragonfang, which is brunnhilde's sword. i mean she COULD have taken it from her? in the flashback scene she's using it already...

though... i guess there's some nonsense about the MCU valkyrie ALL having dragonfang swords. so i don't know.

either way, she DOES have a name, we just don't know it.

It's Scrapper 142!

Did anyone call heimdall a sjw token hire? I do not remember that
i had an issue, not against Idris, he's great (he was awesome as Luther) , but i had a major problem with Norse mythology being shit on like that. his role in the movie was just basically doorman and so it didnt fuck up the movie.

Those two characters, particularly Valkyrie, are acted amazingly, written well, and they're charismatic and can hold their own. They have so much presence. I still love the scene in Thor: Ragnarok where Valkyrie is telling about when Hella killed the rest of the Valkyrie (is her name actually Valkyrie? Or were the female fights collectively called Valkyrie), and it has the slow motion scene where she's flying at Hella and Hella is whipping all their asses. Amazing scene.

Let's not forget how great Hella was, as a female lead villain. Fucking perfect.
*Hela ! (triggering intensifies)

Her name is Brunnhilde if they have any plans on being legit. I think we conjure up images of the fat, dual-braided viking due to the Wagnerian opera singers of the day.

RE: SJW argument: SJW shit is SJW shit. It's not a conspiracy theory or anything... it is what it is. My (unpopular here) opinion is that the most vocal people talking about SJW shit think it's a bigger problem / bane on society than what it really is imo, but that doesn't mean they're wrong that SJW shit exists in the first place, is cancerous, and WILL get worse as time marches forward, because... the SJWs are winning the culture war quite frankly and influencing mainstream society significantly more than we are.

The fucking mineral they are after in that movie is, no lie, called 'unobtanium'.

They were that fucking lazy. Once my friend told me that I swore that I would never see it or any of the planned sequels.

Was I the only person who had heard “unobtainium” used before?

i looked it up after the movie, never heard of it before that though. i figured it was an in movie joke about it being a mcguffin. the reason why avatar did so well was mainly due to its incredible marketing of next level CGI and cameron's rep of being a juggernaut box office director. the movie was pretty mediocre though.

the movie was very pretty. the story was 100% derivative. i was one of the only people i know that saw it and just... wasn't fooled by how pretty it was. there wasn't a single new idea in that film.

Ahhh shit, didn't toss in the quote for context:
her comic book counterpart is named brunnhilde, but that summons kind of a specific looking image, so i'm not surprised they haven't officially named her that in the MCU.

Aye, don't get me wrong Chuk, I knew Valkyrie was a Pamela-Anderson-esque blonde in the comics before I posted; I have the Marvel Universe comics line where it's got all the characters and stats and stuff. Was trying to offer a reason why Brunnhilde became "fat" in our minds vs. perhaps the reality of the lore.

Honestly it was a fine movie. It's not the most original story ever, but it had everything in it. Pretty much the only movie that did 3D right, insane CGI and motion capture, a beautiful alien planet, fuckable cat-like aliens, an appeal to nature, great action, beautiful cinematography, fucking alien pterodactyls, etc. The beautiful floating mountains, sea-like flora, etc. It's a hell of a movie. It's not deep or meaningful, and as someone else pointed out here, for all the money it made, it didn't leave too much of an impact on society, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

But like, there aren't Avatar toys at the toy store, people don't dress up as them for halloween really (maybe like first two years after it came out), etc. But shit like Frozen, I mean the toy store is still full of their crap, and every isle in the store otherwise has Elsa and Anna on every conceivable product. But none with Jakesully and Neytiri. (Toy store for my kid lol, not me)

well, one of those movies was a kid's movie and one of them wasn't. so take that for what it's worth. also, the only people worth dressing up as in avatar are either the giant mechs or the na'vi. one requires an insane amount of money to actually put together for a holloween costume, the other requires you to be in a thong in october.
