There has to be a hidden motive behind this shit. It just feels completely out of place for a company of any size to allow a handful of employee's or less, steer them into controversial subject matter. Last corporation I worked for in a management situation, it was made very clear that anything that I put on social media was a direct representation of the company as well. A billion dollar company like this.. doesnt have those safe guards in place? Its just very... odd, to me. You would lose your job even if you were fighting for the same team the company was on.

They possibly/probably have contracts with various social media stipulations in it but that does not mean their legal department is willing to test if it is really actionable (especially in California).

I think one of the owners came out in support of the Art dude's comments a day or two after he made them (either Parker or Monahan)? Feargus, on the other hand, seems to be the "all about the money" asshole type and is probably the most unhappy. He is also the one that dominates the show at Obsidian and therefore might be willing to take action against the Art dude, but probably not.

it is a cult.

we keep saying it. but people don't really digest it. Its a cult, they are all in it. Art team, HR, executives. they are not running a business. they are running a cult. Its not about making money, its about preaching the message. the game/comicbook/tv show exists to promote the message. the interviews talking about said game/comicbook/tvshow/movie are just another avenue to preach the message.

of course there are company policies to shut up and not talk on twitter etc. but that, only applies one way. HR is run by the cultists. DC comics put out a message telling everyone to not talk. you think the DEI cult stopped running their mouths? of course not. who is going to punish them? the HR cultist that hired them in the first place, expressly because they were also part of the cult?

Yeah true. Dragon Age had the luxury of a well established IP with an already established fanbase that was willing to buy it just because it's the latest entry in the franchise. Avowed will have to win over a fanbase on it's own merit. Best it can hope for is game dev fanboys but with all the game devs that have been ruined over the years I wonder how many people like that still remain.

Like I've said before...

"Woke" won't make a legitimately great/fun game bad. Alternatively, it won't ever make a bad game good, either. If something is legitimately good and fun to play, people will play it. Elden Ring did the whole tranny stuff too and many people have it as possibly the greatest game ever.

The "woke" shit just gets used as a cope because the game in question is just a shitty game at its core. Due to the "culture war", "woke" makes that the easy target as to why it's shitty. Sure, it may be a factor, but at the end of the day a sucky game just sucks.

A bad narrator or voice actor making an unlikable character can ruin a game. Woke peopaganda os basically always that. Rubbing our nose in a hollow bad poorly written character can ruin a game. Woke characatures are basically always that.

ff14, a game which is basically a story experience for most players. outsourced their latin/texan voices to a california/american voic studio (because their folks were all british accented folks) and that studio put in a troon who has no vocal range, can't emulate emotion and gave wooden voice reads. that character was made the focus of the story, and you could not escape a moment of interaction with interesting story elements without this regard piping up with some stupid shit poorly voiced.

it was shocking because they had other good voice actors in the story they just had to give out that dei crown to their pet mutant.

that was a major componant of people finding the story (the principle thing they were there for) to be really obnoxious because the character was rubbed in their faces for a 20+ hour experience. unlike the rest of the game which wasn't outsourced to woke elements, and was more enjoyable.

a storytelling expeience can be ruined by an unlikable character. this isn't new. its how all literature, movies, and story games work. main character being ass ruins the experience.

If you're trying to say that a game play experience can't be dstroyed by fleeting woke elements here and there. sure that's what happened with BG3. you can fucking kill the gays that flirt with you. you can't do that in dragon age veilgard. you get your nose rubbed in their writers idological hang-ups constantly and you cannot murder that character, abandon them. or get away from those story elements.


.....which may ruin the game for some one.
