Honestly even if it underperforms it won't truly bomb. I'm sure they've sold the fuck out of this movie just like MoS, where it turned a profit just from product placements/endorsements before it even opened.

On that note, during yesterday's episode of Collider Heroes when they were discussing the tone of BvS one of the panelists mentioned that he had spoken with someone who had actually seen the movie already (no, he never went into any specifics or spoilers) and that person had expressed some concern that Batman might be depicted as a little too dark in it. During the fight scenes where he is taking on some more street level opponents he looks like he is trying to straight up murder people. Not take them in hand on behalf of the cops, but simply end them.

So stool pushage might be what he's going for with Supes.

Yup, MoS had $300 million sold before it even opened. DC learned with MoS how to guarantee a profit with a superhero movie. It cost 225 million, so it made 75 million in profit before it opened.

It's absolutely false that MoS had 300 million in presales. I'm not sure where you're getting that from.

Depends entirely on the reviews. If it's bad, I ain't seeing it in theaters. When you've seen enough painted shit on the walls you learn to stop auto-paying for a tour in Crapville.

Maybe I said it wrong. It had almost that much in sponsorships and profit sharing ventures with those sponsors. Those paid for the cost of the movie before it even launched. The first ticket (and every ticket after) was pure profit.

I read an analyst that said the only way it will do 1.5 is if sales are spurred by word of mouth, like Deadpool was. People have stopped blindly going to superhero movies, we actually rely on reviews now.

No one cares if Batman is dark. We want dark Batman. Arkham Batman permanently cripples thugs just for talking bad about him. As long as we see people groaning on the floor or still breathing after a fight with Batman, we're fine. Superman on the other hand is above all that.
