I like the theory that she'll be playing Carrie Kelly and her death is part of why this version of Bruce Wayne is even more of a crazed sociopath than normal.

Only other characters I can think of would be Queen Mera or Starfire.

For a film that is going to be 2.5 hours in theater I can understand having to cut some things and already planning to have an extended edition. It's not like it's a 1h 45m where they cut stuff out because less runtime = more showings or a LotR coming out with 5 different versions after the fact.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to emulate another actors portrayal of a character.

Brandon Routh did a great Christopher Reeves and now he's on Legends of Tomorrow playing a character nobody gives a fuck about.

Also, the character isn't famed for his sparkling personality at all, he's incredibly bland.

Superman Returns was a direct sequel, it was absolutely appropriate for Routh to mimic Reeves.

Is it? I vaguely remembering Lex Luthor coming back in the way he does not fitting between the originals and SR but to be fair I can barely recall the details of the originals, I just remember the big plot points since it's been so long.
