And exactly how do you do it right when there are tons of interpretations of every aspect of that universe.

Marvel has been pretty consistent, DC has not. They have always let the creative personnel re invent everything on a yearly basis, sometimes on a Story ARC basis.

Be like saying let's do Batman right. Which version of Batman. Franks? Neals? Bobs? Jims? Etc Etc....
I'm fine with a Keaton-esque Batman, and a Reevish-Superman, but updated. For one, I liked the mobility of Batman in BvS. Keaton was not so mobile, the costume was so thick and heavy. And BvS was beautiful, fight-wise. But there's no way that it matched the storytelling in Batman, Superman I or II, or any of the Bale trilogies.

I don't know any other way to say it, the level of story telling and acting did not match the DC movies listed above. If you think that it did, you are trolling.

Damn you are an idiot.

I like how you gave up comparing the Marvel Movies with their simple stories, and now all the sudden are shifting to other DC movies now. You litteraly listed off 3 different universes with completely different versions of the characters. The troll seems to be you

Anyway for True DC fans, unlike this nerd above, You will recognize the General from a certain army

Yup, confirmed troll. You asked me which Batman I'd prefer, and then when I answer your question, you slam me for it. Don't expect any more responses from me.

So you list two completely different Batmans, none of them even close to one another.

Just proves my point that saying lets do DC right is such a rideculous statement given every creative team constantly re invents them.

Don't expect any more responses from me.
You promise? I just saved the thread then. I will take over at this point.

Yeah, but it's not supposed to be Shakespeare . It's the same formula that Marvel is using on their big films.
Yes and no. My mom (not a comic fan) loved Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool because they were legit fun movies. She had no pre-existing knowledge of either franchise and didn't need any. But she felt completely lost when watching Batman VS Superman. If DC really wanted to use the same formula as Marvel, they would lighten the tone of their movies and make them more accessible to people unfamiliar with the comics.

Fun is such a subjective term. Because your Mom deems it fun that what I should like.

Get the fuck out of here with that shit

That's exactly what Deadpool didn't do, and made it so great. Don't compromise for the plebs.

I predicted both Deadpool and GOTG were going to be huge hits when you nerds kept saying, but they are too weird for the general audience to accept them.

How did that work out for you guys?

Guess I'm not a true fan, since I have no idea what CGI nanite monster is supposed to be.

5.5 / 10. There are so many issues to pick at in this movie, and yet it isn't bad in spite of them. I was entertained, never found myself getting bored or wondering when the movie would end. It's just frustrating how badly they messed up the characters and to think how good this movie could have been with more cohesive plot that made sense with the traditional characters.

I hated the Lex Luthor portrayal above all. Lex Luthor is supposed to be a power-hungry genius, and we really never saw that hunger for power from this guy. He's not a punky lunatic genius that is just out to cause trouble for the heroes for the F of it. We never once see how this great plan he has created is going to benefit him. Poor casting choice for him in general.

just watched it. overall i think it was alright in spite of itself. not great, but not terrible. i have no idea what was going on with lex, but everyone else did fine. even superman wasn't terrible. the real problem was just that, like others have said, it was too much. too many stories all put into one movie. it just went too far beyond hinting at a larger world (death in the family, alexander luthor, injustice) but didn't give enough real information to have any substance to it. it somehow turned 3/4 of the movie into filler.

This Batman sucked dick. Seriously? Gunning people down all willy nilly? That's some lazy fucking writing there. Batman hasn't used guns as a staple weapon since the 30's when he was a Shadow ripoff. Fucking DC sucks.
And Superman is boring as hell. And don't get me started on Lex fucking Luthor. Jesus Christ what a wasted opportunity.

Batfleck is fine. A potrayal Dark Knight Returns Batman is a potrayal of a Dark Knight Returns Batman. Henry Cavill is still a good looking superman. But he still has to have this Nhilist Jesus Goyer Splooge all over him. They need new writers, or a fucking Director that will say No to stupid ideas like Nolan did. Grimdark bullshit is fine when its grounded in reality. Goyer and Snyder would make a great PunisherMAX. But It doesn't work with giant iconic supergods.

I would have been fine with the entire deal if they just had one Talking Gorilla or a Detective Chimp...

My friend was commenting batman in the movie is kinda the old age batman who has simply run out of fucks to give on keeping mooks alive. He still tries punching most into submission but clearly is not overly concerned about shooting the hell out of minions who get in his way if thats what it takes.

Why does the villain never just shoot the hostage in the head when he realizes a superhero is killing his 50 henchmen outside?

He brands people, kaid. He brands them. Like meat. And then he says and I'm nearly quoting....if there's even a 1% chance Superman is the enemy we must destroy him.

Are you fucking kidding me?

someone in the thread said earlier about a punisher-esque batman. that was pretty spot on. not in the sense that he's running around with a minigun, just that this batman does not appear to be concerned with the level of criminal he's dealing with. it's just black and white, criminals are criminals who need to be put down.

the best superman stories are the ones that test the no-win scenario. you think there's no way he's going to solve the problem and still have him be the boy scout, then at the last minute he pulls it off. the best batman stories are the one that seriously make you doubt his sanity. he's saying and doing things that make even his staunchest allies think he's gone too far. then, at the last minute he pulls off a win while still being clearly on the good side. it really feels like the cinematic universe as of late doesn't understand that concept. so much of this movie you simply can't root for batman. and so much of this movie you simply can't root for superman. everyone was so worried about how they were going to pit these two iconic superheroes against each other without watering either of them down. the writers went so far in the opposite direction that you just don't care who wins.

Meh that's bullshit. A Batman that resorts to guns and killing is lazy and unoriginal. The only Batman that ever used guns regular was from the 30's when he was a Shadow rip off. I had some friends try and use that as an example and I was like that's about as absurd as me saying that he should have been more like the Batman from the old TV show.
My favorite Batman is the Batman from JLA 1-4. The Batman that single handedly pushes in the shit of the White Martians who took out the entirety of the JLA sans Batman. All without using guns or letal force.
