Basically, according to BobbyD, whenever you register, whenever any one registers, they all show the same IP address for some reason, so any one can make an account, which is why there are so many alts. There is no real detection for alts on there.

I have the actual thread that includes screen shots of a conversation between BobbyD and the miscer that posted this information after he talked to Bobby outside of misc. From what I understood, you basically just need a new email address and you can make as many accounts as you want.

As for the Rudyrude thing, yeah that was around 10 years ago, or longer, but misc never recovered from that. I lurked misc back in the early 2000s and mid 2000s and after Rudyrude it was on its way to decaying into a shit hole filled with insecure people and frauds. He was an ugly non lifting incel also lmao, as for how he became a thing, beats me. He's a total loser.

I think the misc did bounce back a little around 2014-2017 but it was clearly past the glory days by then.

This is really going back a ways, but imo the true glory days ended in 2009 when a ton of 4chan phaggots found the misc and started posting.

Yeah I think it's peak/start of decline was Zyzz, that was the final 'big thing' with misc, but there were still some good times despite being in a state of decline as you stated 14/17ish.

I just read the second page of that thread I referenced and BobbyD explains that the admins of the site made some security change and they made it so that it was no possible to IP ban anyone, because, (I'll type this verbatim):

the developers made a security change behind the scenes over a year ago and what they did was essentially (as I understand it) created a firewall that made it impossible for anyone to IP ban because it would IP ban everyone. So when an alt makes an account, it looks like it's a new user like everyone else. So if they check IP's now it comes back at like 1300 pages of users with the same IP.
