Yea, but it made it all that much better when I started watching again.Damn, you stopped right before the Mike episode? That was the highlight of the show so far
This is true but its more than that...as explained by Gould and Gilligan. Gene is a completely different man the Saul...Flipping the switch was just him being slipping jimmy, doing what ever he wants, not pushing the door handle is him being afraid now...he is no longer (or is supressing) his rebellious nature. He is no longer Slipping Jimmy nor Saul GoodmanHe didn't want to go through the emergency exit because the police would be called, and he's assuming a false identity. He doesn't want to draw any attention to himself. He's a wanted fugitive for his involvement with Walter White, the black and white stuff are flash forwards to his life after Breaking Bad don't forget.
i dont think he really thought the cops would track him down for opening that door, but that it was in the realm of possibility that it could happen so he decided not to take a risk. thats where he is right now. afraid to take any kind of risk.I don't think he was worried about the cops. There is literally no way the cops could have gotten there before he walked around to his car.
He etched "SG was here" on the wall. That could either mean Saul is coming back, or that Saul died in there.
Having actually seen a few switches like that, I'm going to suggest the most likely explanation is that it's connected to an ancient desktop PC running some custom software/spreadsheet that some guy who left a decade ago made. No-one has any idea how it works or how to reproduce it, and they are all terrified if it ever gets switched off, the machine will never boot again 8)IMO the light switch stuff is an allegory about how Jimmy, as tamed as his new job is, would bend rules, for curiosity sake.
Yea.. we kinda said exactly that. That's the obvious imagery they were going for. We were just discussing what it might actually be connected to, if the creators had written an actual backstory about what it turned off. These are the kinds of guys who would potentially have it be some kind of plot catalyst in an episode later on down the line as well as that initial metaphor.IMO the light switch stuff is an allegory about how Jimmy, as tamed as his new job is, would bend rules, for curiosity sake.
When an office building is leased it usually gets a facelift. They might add walls to make more offices or knock them down to make bigger rooms. Heck, remodels can happen even when the office is not changing hands. When that happens a lot, eventually a switch can end up on the wrong side of a wall. The company is usually trying to save money during a remodel so it's easy to either miss something like that or decide it's not important. Is that how Americans do electrical layouts? random switch on a wall?
Was thinking the same thing. Present it as symbolism only to reveal it's also actually a plot catalyst later. May not be the case, but that's the kind of thing these guys would do- and part of what makes their shows great. These are the kinds of guys who would potentially have it be some kind of plot catalyst in an episode later on down the line as well as that initial metaphor.
lol i had apple pie tonight right before i watched that. so does chuck miss jimmy or is he going to try to fuck him over?Well, I won't be eating pie anytime soon.
Fuck him over. He's the catalyst imo that turns him into Saul.lol i had apple pie tonight right before i watched that. so does chuck miss jimmy or is he going to try to fuck him over?
