I dunno, after tonight, it seems more like Kim is going to be the one that ultimately turns him into saul.

Actually, if anyone other than Jimmy's urge to fuck with people is the ultimate reason, id say Mike played a good part in it too. dude was doing his lawyer thing and mike calls him with the opportunity. like catnip to a cat he pounced right on it.

I'll bet on Chuck. He absolutely hates to see his useless brother succeed at his thing. Kim is the one who could save him, but Chuck will prevail.

Great episode all around, as expected. I really liked the part where he lost his shit when Chuck came in, and Kim turned it around.

Yeah, I would agree that all the parties mentioned above will turn Jimmy into the Saul we all know.

I assume he will get screwed out of the sandpiper money and that will be the final blow.

watching 10 minutes of a man being locked in a garbage room has never been more enthralling. gilligan or whoever does the scenes is brilliant.

Ya chuck is going to continue to drive him to be jimmy and kim will eventually abandon him after he goes too far off the moral ledge. Mike will be the only one who is loyal to him through. Chuck is such a shithead.

Nobody drives Jimmy to become Saul. That's just who he is in spite of everyone else.

Jimmy craves to be slippin' Jimmy, it's why he conned the guy at the bar and it's why he took the case for the baseball cards. Jimmy likes that feeling of living on the edge, Jimmy turns Jimmy into Saul, not anyone else. The purpose of everyone else, in Jimmys mind will be "no matter how hard I try people will fuck me over so I may as well do what I want and be who I want."

Chuck is there to bear witness to Jimmy's work and pounce on him at slightest misstep to get him thrown off of the Sandpiper case.

Jimmy only tries to be good and moral for the people he cares about. When he feels betrayed by them is when he goes back to who he really is

lol i had apple pie tonight right before i watched that. so does chuck miss jimmy or is he going to try to fuck him over?
I don't think Chuck's intention is or ever was to fuck over Jimmy. He knows Jimmy is a con-artist deep down and views him lawyering as just another level of that. And that likely played a large part in why Jimmy was turned away from HHM: It wasn't because of jealousy or spite, but because Chuck thinks Jimmy is putting on another act, and at some point, that's going to come crumbling down just like it has so many times in the past. Chuck is just trying to avoid the law firm he built from being taken down with him, which is also why he's now showing interest in this case. It's a huge case with a potential to make a lot of money. He doesn't want Jimmy screwing that up.

Thats part of it but I feel he's also upset with Jimmy because of what he's said. Jimmy graduated from a fluff school, took the "easy way" in his eyes and doesn't want Jimmy to ever be on the same level after the hard work that Chuck has put in himself to get where he is. I think he's always held himself above Jimmy and the idea of Jimmy achieving the same level as Chuck, greatly pisses him off.

this is true. chuck is living with no electricity in his home because of his phobias about electromagnetism, but he hears Jimmy is doing well and working the sandpiper case with another firm who knows Jimmy's past and is still willing to give him a shot. well, this he's gotta see. so he puts on his aluminum foil suit and braves the electricity to witness this meeting. the best part. Chuck is standing right next to Jimmy when his cell phone rings. that right there is a giant FUCK YOU to Chuck because Jimmy refused to hand in his phone when requested and nobody knows more than Jimmy how crazy Chuck is about that electromagnetism shit.

He actually got it out of the bin after the meeting, just like everyone else (was handed to him by the blonde, actually).

I think it was evident that the guy coming over to Chuck's house and telling him Jimmy was on the partner track is what got him to go in to HHM.

I agree that Chuck looks down on Jimmy and he can't stand the idea of him becoming a "respectable" lawyer because he hasn't "earned it" in Chuck's mind. He bases his own self esteem on his accomplishments in the law and having Jimmy weasel his way into a similar level of respectability is unbearable to him.

Why did Jimmy have to exonerate his client and falsify evidence if his client wasn't being charged with anything? Couldn't the guy have just said, "fuck you", and lawyer up? His business was concluded and he was no longer selling pharmaceuticals, so the cops ultimately couldn't do a god damn thing. Having a hole in your baseboard may arouse suspicion but it's not a criminal act.

I think the point was, that guy was such an idiot he wouldn't have thought clearly enough to ration that out. Mike figured "why take the chance"?

They would have kept digging until they found something on him eventually. Now the police have absolutely no desire to watch what this sick fuck gay ass-pie smearing fatty does
