Oh nice, that's sweet as hell. Is there a monthly cost or anything?

Thinking about that, it's pretty fucking stalkerish as well. Still awesome though.
Ummmm... I don't think you need to pay to do that but I can't remember for sure. They have a pro and premium version, one is a one time $7.95 fee which is what I did, the other is a monthly subscription which I do not do. For basic stat tracking you can use the free version. Can't remember what features you gain for the pro and premium versions but I'm sure their website has a breakdown.

Even more stalkerish is you can send "pep talks" to your friends. So in the middle of their ride/run/whatever you can make the little computer voice in their app say whatever you want to them basically. I usually taunt my Mom by sending a message like "Go faster, your beer is getting warm"

The other feature I like about Endomodo is that you can store GPS routes for anything (biking, running, etc). You can share these routes publicly and then challenge others. It will then keep track of who has the best times, etc. Awesome little app!

I've decided I'll be doing the 184-mile towpath ride on July 11 - 13. I've gone out for a few 30 - 40 mile rides and I'm feeling good, so I don't foresee any physical issues. I'll be stopping in Harper's Ferry and Hancock. With a nice leisurely 60ish miles a day, I'll probably take some detours to explore some other areas along the way, as well. Now I just keep my fingers crossed that the weather isn't too hot/too rainy.

You hookers been riding? I'm around 500 miles this season between road and MTB. The OneUp 42T is THE GOODS, I use the shit out of it - definitely my favorite off season upgrade, with the XT brakes being a close second. Still not used to the dropper post, it feels strange not having the seat between my knees for stability. Been running the 2.25 Ardent EXOs around ~28PSI and loving them, shitloads of grip in the wet and dry.

I'm heading to Norway on Wednesday for 3 weeks, and rented a road bike for my time out there. Going to be Strava-ing up some Scandinavian segments, and hopefully not getting lost.

I put air in my tires last week. Then it was 3C with 30mph winds and snow on Saturday. So nope, no riding yet. Probably will tomorrow morning, gotta drop my car off in the morning and ride to work, but it's only like 7-8 km of flat, boring riding.

24 Hours of Adrenaline in July is probably going to be extremely painful again, unless I get my shit together.

Fucker, my 105 mile ride to the coast this weekend is looking like rain and sixty degrees.

I also raced track last weekend for the first time, there was a cat 1 cyclocross rider in the field and he pretty much dominated every event. I didn't get dropped though, just hung out middle of the pack, had to dodge one crash in turn 4 on the last lap, missed the dude by inches.

I've been without a bike for a quite a few years now and just got my first non department store mountain bike (Giant 29er) and man the last couple pages talking about saddle discomfort was no joke. I did a very mild trail near my house the first day and it was hurting bad by the end but after a good nights sleep felt fine. Today I just wanted to explore the neighborhood but the second I sat down on the bike in the driveway it was worse than the end of the first day. I could only do about 10 minutes before I was standing most of the way. I bought a pair of bike shorts at the bike shop and it seems to help the dangly bits but does nothing for the ass. Here's hoping it breaks in quick because I am having a blast. Already saw a herd of wild horses and either a really fat hawk or skinny eagle along the river.

So what are some good tires/tubes? I was biking an easy 10-15 miles every day a few years ago but fell out of doing after getting flat tire after flat tire from tiny little thorns.

Deal with it. Its kinda like lifting after a long break, youre gonna be sore to matter what for a week then youll be good.

Stock saddles are almost always shit but as Phoenix said, it's probably just you aren't used to sitting in the saddle. I know I took a couple week break a while ago and when I came back, my taint hurt for a day or two until it got used to it again. Also, make sure your saddle is level where you sit and seat height is correct(hips aren't rocking when pedaling) cause that can cause some discomfort.

I'm assuming for a road bike? If so, I've had great lucky withPanaracers T-servs, they are a little on the heavy side but ride pretty nice for a durable tire, I've tried the Specialized Armadillos and they were super resistant but they rode like shit. I have a friend who rides Schwalbe Marathons and he's gone about 6-8 months of daily commuting with no flats.

For my bang-for-the-buck road tires I've settled on Vittoria Zaffiro Pro's, but it should be mentioned that I value wear/durability over TPI.

But you said thorns so are you riding trails? Everything I've heard about the southwest makes tubeless sound almost mandatory with the variety of thorny shit you have to deal with.

I got the cheapo pair of bike short liners linked a page or so back from Amazon today and it made an insane difference. I went to a bike club's open invite casual cruise around the historic area of Carson City and rode for over an hour without any real discomfort. I'm partially amused and partially ticked that the $9 pair is working so much better than the $65 pair.

Yeah I was really surprised with how well they work and how comfortable they are. Definitely worth picking up a pair or two.

Well it appears I am a bit late to the cycling party.

I'm a pretty avid cyclist/triathlete in the Austin area. I'm about to replace my racing bike with a better one and get a mountain bike to mix it up. I did a lot of bike touring when I lived in FL, but haven't really had a desire to in the past year or so... mainly because I don't feel the need to ride through the burning ass desert of Texas.

I'll post up my stable when I get a chance!

Finally went on my first bike ride on Tuesday. Went with a buddy who is damn near a semi-pro XC racer, he's both in very good shape and also a very skilled biker. I'm not very skilled, and I'm in terrible shape. Did my best to keep up with him for a couple hours, and had a lot of fun. On the ride home I realized that my rear shock had been locked out the entire goddamn time, which went a long way to explaining why I found some rooty sections to be somewhat of a nightmare. Whoops.

I've owned my XC bike for 6-7 years, and it's never had a tuneup or new tires, because it's been so rarely used. Probably time to take it in!

Nice chamois and seat go a long way for sure. As others said, it just takes some breaking in on your sit bones.

I act like I ride a bike sometimes, have a ti 29 hardtail and also a full suspension 29er. I'm in Northern Colorado, so the bigger wheels help with the rocky trails.

Came across another herd of wild horses on my morning ride that I was able to snag a picture of. I love this time of year with all the wildlife moving along the river; outside the rattlers that is. Seat seems pretty well broken in after a week and doesn't bother me as long as I remember to stand up every twenty minutes or so.

Hah!

Yesterday was the Almanzo 100 gravel ride in SE minnesota. Almost 2000 racers. There were some horses actually running with for part of the ride (I'm guessing from videos/comments/pictures, I didn't ride in it).
