So far this winter in Maryland has been pretty great for bike riding. Tons of days of 40+ temperatures and very little snowfall. I'm hoping it stays this way for the duration of the winter, especially after last year's snow-filled monstrosity of a season.
So damn glad I got the fatty this season. Went out in the "blizzard" up here in NE yesterday, 10 miles of just me and the plows. Actually averaged 10mph, which is harder than you'd think when you're running 6psi and studs. Hills were a bit of a bitch.

Cold as balls but still better than the treadmill/trainer.

i got into the Zwift beta today, and my first impressions of it are that it's going to be awesome as hell when it's done. The current course is just a 5k lap, but even that makes the trainer 100000x more interesting. I had a 10 mile or so duel with a couple of Canadian guys this afternoon and worked my ass off, which is something I rarely do on the trainer.

It's still in beta, but worth throwing your name in for an invite. I'll definitely sub to it once it goes live.

I'm so jealous of your snow, we here in the PNW got dick all this year and I was hoping for some to romp around with the cross bike.

In other news, I got two new bikes this week, I ordered that felt F75 on Wednesday and then I scored a killer deal on a GT GTB so I'm gonna have a very lively daily commuter to enjoy. The real question will be which bike do I want to ride more and it's likely the GTB.

Been in the 50's here the past two days, got to go out without wearing my full winter kit for some nice rides.

We have too much snow up here for it now. Something like 5 feet in the last week or so. It's snowshoes and XC skis for me unfortunately.

Also, pics of the new bikes at once!

While it's partially true, it's still a little bit disingenuous. Gaining 7.5 seconds on a mile climb is a relatively sizeable advantage in a race, granted it might be lost when descending.

The main issue that I see with the weight weenies is just the fact that if you race, UCI limits your bike to no less that ~15 lbs and you can easily hit that without even trying to make it light. It really just boils down to people like bragging rights.

I do always laugh when I see a Cervelo though cause it's guaranteed to be a very portly 40 year old man.

Yeah when I got to that 7.5 seconds part, even as a non-racer, I was like uh that's fucking HUGE actually. I think generally the point was though that for the average end user the gains versus costs don't really play out in the end, since even to get that 7.5 seconds requires a fucking bitch grade.

I think they're pointing more toward my style people, the commuters. Trimming the weight will end up being better than a lighter bike 99% of the time.

Picked up my roadie yesterday, haven't had a chance to truly ride it but did a quick ten to get the fit dialed in. The drops need to go, so uncomfortable.

Also, got my daily driver dialed in finally and did a fifty mile ride yesterday to the beach.

Well that's awesome looking. Enjoy it man! I'm stuck on the damn trainer for a while since it refuses to stop snowing up here in NE.

It's even got red anodized nipples on the rims for Seventh. I bought the new vegan Brooks C15 and while I haven't done a century on it yet but I can tell tell it's gonna be comfortable. LBS said he weighed the prologo saddle it came with and it's the same weight.
