Nope. At this point I'm assuming it's DLC. Even on NG++ (From what I can tell at ++ nothing changes, not even power levels)Anyone ever figure out how to open the door behind the locked chest in Cathedral Ward? The one down the stairs into a room with a bunch of vases that you get to after fighting the giant with the ball & chain.
If you angle your camera right you can see through it. There's nothing there, so probably cut content or a future DLC entrance.Anyone ever figure out how to open the door behind the locked chest in Cathedral Ward? Gerhardt's Scythe in 2H mode really I found to be key with all the toughest of the last few bosses (Hound, Amygdala, Queen - especially Queen it was knocking her down every hit, hilariously easy)Finally beat second boss in defiled chalice after like 20 attempts (flame hound). That stupid fucking charge he does is so quick and a 1 hit kill. Even noticing it and trying to dodge didn't always work.
The one that really pissed me off though was his jump, also a 1 hit kill. I'm not convinced it even can be dodged, but luckily he only very rarely used it.
hoping to plat the game this week, depends on how the rest of the chalices go
Yea, I was the same way on him - owned him first time like he was a joke, second time was hard for some reason - dunno if the umbilical ending version is different or what, but I had a much harder time as well.Fuck Gehrman right in the ass. I beat him once for the secondary ending and now I'm trying to beat him again for the true ending and almost every time I parry him the visceral doesn't register. Argghhh.. Guess I'll get it tomorrow.
Didn't matter how close to him I was, he would sometimes do his charge attack when I was right in front of him in melee rangeGerhardt's Scythe in 2H mode really I found to be key with all the toughest of the last few bosses (Hound, Amygdala, Queen - especially Queen it was knocking her down every hit, hilariously easy)
Hound was just a matter of sticking close to the front, and dodging left when he snapped at me - and paying attention the rare novas to back off as much as possible + heal.
You never stay in front of him - it was charge forward, as soon as he even twitches dodge to the left. Dodging around him to the left was always the right answer to any attack besides the nova. (which was slow and obvious)Didn't matter how close to him I was, he would sometimes do his charge attack when I was right in front of him in melee range
Eventually, yes. I wouldn't bother eating them until you have three though, unless you're going to spend the insight immediately. Insight has no positive effects that I'm aware of, but it is confirmed to make you much more susceptible to Frenzy. Finally went back and got to the Hidden workshop....
am i correct in that i should consume the 1/3 umbilical cord?
I'm the opposite. I found both Dark Souls games extremely lacking compared to Demon's Souls, but this one I can't put down.Finding it hard to get motivated to go back and finish this game.. i just can't get immersed into it like the other souls games for some reason
hmmm that concerns me as my current insight is about 33ish right now, asof last night i killed the witches boss.Eventually, yes. Don't consume them yet, especially if you are trying to get all the endings in one play through. If you backup your save right at the end before gehrman, you can do all of the endings. If you already consumed 3 of them by that point though you can't get one of themFinally went back and got to the Hidden workshop....

Note I said dodge to the left side - not back, nor under - left side is his safe area from basically everything. Although you don't want to be too far ahead on the left, since his common "snap" attack starts there - but most of the left side is safe.He charge would hit you even if you were next to his hind leg
