I'm trying to get all of the sidequests and such. I died about 15 times trying to do the jump to the Old Workshop. Had to youtube it just to see which platform to jump from, lol.

edit: I'm having issues with parrying some enemies. Those kidnappers, for instance, require me to actually get hit for them to get staggered. I'm using the blunderbuss gun. Am I just not timing it correctly? I don't have many issues parrying enemies (though can't seem to parry the big guys/bosses) except for the kidnappers.

I never parried a bagman, but there is an easy way to kill them. If you got Ludwig's or something like the Kirk hammer hit them 2-3 times until they get in position to do their power-up move. As soon as they start that stand behind them and charge attack + visceral them. With Ludwigs upgraded a bit it should kill them instantly. Also, using Ludwig's as a 2-hander, every swing against them will stun them for a quick second.

The funny thing is if you charge attack them with a kirk hammer it flattens them out like a pancake. I'm sure it's a bug, but it's hilarious.

You guys weren't kidding about Ludwig's. Upgraded it to +3 right away and it is decimating everything. I'm enjoying helping people kill Vicar to get blood echoes.

There's a hunter that is really hard though to the right of Vicar. Should I try and farm this person?

Bagmen are parry-able, but the blunderbuss is slower than most guns. The tradeoff is it has a wider shot pattern. If you don't want to get hit, time it better or use a pistol.

Thanks for the tips on Gaol. Farming it. Vitality is at 30, endurance is 34, strength 16, and skill 12. I'm assuming I'm almost at the point where I should stop leveling vitality and endurance soon? Wish I knew a place for guaranteed Twin Shard drops. The little beasts that scurry off don't seem to appear often in Gaol (I've only seen it once).

I would take str and skill to 25 each before doing anything else if you like Ludwig. You've got enough vit/end for that stage of the game. Take arcane to 15 at some point too, there's a buff-spell item you'll want to use. I can't remember where the hell it is though.

Those beasts are like crystal lizards in Souls games. They respawn if they escape, do not respawn once killed and looted.

Ya, you are wrong, sorry. Endurance is the most important stat, and you should definitely get it to 40 at some point, though he probably has enough for now until he gets str/skl a bit higher

Vitality: 31
Endurance: 34
Strength: 21
Skill: 17

I am up to Rom now. I've completed every side quest I can thus far -- but for some reason, I cannot get the skeptical man to give me an option to send him anywhere to be saved. All he gave me was the Tonsil Stone or whatever.

Most annoying area has really been Forbidden Woods with all the fucking snakes and aliens. What the shit. x_x

Good game, though. Wish there were more higher level players on so I can tag along on their boss fights, ha ha. I wants to level. ;-x

Does armor really matter? I just started playing again since I meet it back in March. I really like the Bone Ash set, but it seems the highest perk of that is the very high Fire/Bolt resist. Other than that, the Yharnam Hunter armor, the first set you get, has just about same/better stats

Armor has minimal effect on the damage you take, the best armor you can get is Level. I always went with the best Physical / Blunt armor I had at any given time, which I think consisted of the Black Yharnam Gloves/Boots, Executioner Chest, Cainhurst Helm, when I stopped caring, I used the Charred Hunters set.

If you're at Rom, you should have the EPS now (and if not, search Byrgenwerth more thoroughly). I'd strongly recommend investing in 15 arcane soon. It doesn't actually scale with arcane, so there's no need to ever raise it beyond that.

Glad you have an opinion, I have one too. Stamina regens so fast in this game compared to the souls games that end is definitely not the most important stat. If you're going to level infinitely, then sure, go up to the cap at 40. For the first playthrough, and also if you're going to try to stick to any kind of reasonable meta for pvp, then there are much better options to prioritize. For a Ludwigs build, I'd go for 25 str and skill ASAP.

I haven't actually gone into Byrgenwerth yet. I finished the Shadows of Yharnam and went back to level some more. The shadows were pretty rough for me, unfortunately.

Forgot how fun Depth 4 chalice dungeons are. And I also forgot that even tho you aren't near the npcs that summon red enemies, they can still summon a shit load of them

Killed Rom. Trying to kill the hunter inside the Grand Cathedral. That is the gayest fight, ever. Is this guy even parryable?

Holy crap that worked. I was using the 1H because I thought I needed speed. Ludwig 2H just fucked him up so easily and fast, lol.

edit: Eileen, Alfred, and Iosfek's quests are done. Just waiting for Arianna's baby to pop out. ;o There are so many garbs that I just dunno what to choose from. I'm still using mostly Henryk and Yharnam.
