Borderlands 1 was like diablo 1, minimal story drawn from player assumptions and a ton of loose ends. This isn't BAD method of story-telling but it isn't a fleshed out story, having so much open-ended assumptions allows for player creativity when it comes to filling out non-existent lore. There needs to be an understanding though, that lore WAS non-existent.
Borderlands 2 had a fleshed out story with a fleshed out villain. Was it a perfect story? No, but it was certainly entertaining.
The Borderlands universe AFTER 2 tried to milk ALL the characters they developed with 2, even "Tales from the" tried to re-inject Handsome Jack in various dumb ways.

I'm not sure if they didn't like 2. which I agree was solid enough. it was ongoing that burch lost his mind, and his sister took over.

If you didn't like Borderlands 2 you didn't like Borderlands.
Borderlands 1 had great story/humour and good gameplay. Borderlands 2 just improved on everything except the story, maybe, but they turned up the jokes and hijinks and made an amazing end-game loop which for console games at the time just didn't exist.
The Psycho with them is probably another character. I'd say Handsome Jack but the actor they got is just some jacked dude. I imagine it'd be the big reveal at the end or after the credits.

Yeah I'm dumb. IMDB even says it's Krieg. Shit. At least it's good they picked a character and not just a random dude.
I haven't played BL2 since it released, so I'm a little foggy.

Don't think any real thought went into the casting beyond "Oh I just talked to Gina we just did Thanksgiving together this year, she can do Moxxi"
Thats 2 movies back to back with Eli Roth directing. Strongly doubt he actually put the role out to casting directors. More like a "who can my friend play" nepo hire.

Come to think of it, why is this even a live action movie? This should have been an animated film done in the same style as the games. Then you could have had Cate Blanchet and whoever speak the roles and no-one would care if they're 50, as long as they sound the part.

Moxxi in the games didn't look 80 years old though. GG is ugly enough to scare the holes out of a bowling ball.

There's this skinny Russian porn star called Gina Gerson or something similar and when you first started talking about this woman playing Moxxi I thought "great fit hiring a porn star to do it, but why such a flat chested one?"
