I dont believe it, you can still see the yellow smudge in the blurred photo, probably that very same bag, and the mailbox doesnt even have a single dent on it.
Yeah, and look at the rest of the things around there... That tree probably would look charred, more of those tables and chairs should be blown over, etc.

If you read the article he linked to, it states that there is no sign of the bag in the second photo. They have a copy without the blur, so you basically just have to believe them. It also mentions that the second picture was taken a long time after the first, so the bag might have been moved elsewhere before the bomb went off.

Assuming for a moment that the bag did contain the bomb, the scene would make sense - the barriers are leaning toward the crowd, most likely implying that the people fell away from the bomb as it went off and pulled the barriers on top of themselves since they were holding on to it (see picture #1). The only strange thing is that the bomb didn't really do much in the street. I don't know how difficult it is to direct the blast of a bomb in a pressure cooker, but it seems like it should be doable. The bomb was relatively weak, so it also makes sense that the mailbox wasn't seriously damaged. The explosions didn't do much on their own - the shrapnel did most of the damage.

*edit* Looked at the video and an "after" picture from the second bomb, and it definitely seems like a directed blast from that location. I won't post the picture here, but you can easily find it for yourself if you want to see.

The tree wouldn't be charred because it didn't burn. A quarter of a second of flame won't leave significant marks. The tables and chairs were fine because people were sitting on them when the bomb went off. It wasn't a big enough explosion to knock them all over. It's actually really surprising that the people didn't knock the chairs over as they ran away though.

It is pretty ludicrous to say that arabs only targets civilians. For mass scale attacks in the west, of course they would target civilians - it makes the most sense, even though they were bold enough to put a 300 foot hole in the Pentagon. Out in their own backyard, Islamic fighters target military targets all the time, from convoys to bases, to roadside attacks.

Who do right wingers target?

Abortion clinics
black churches
OKC federal buildings
lesbian bars
Olympic parks
Holocaust museums

So when have right wingers targeted ANYTHING but innocent people?
I knew that when I wrote innocent people someone would make your claim, but I couldn't be arsed to change it. Guess I should have. Abortion clinics aren't neutral targets, neither are churches, federal buildings or holocaust museums even though innocent people will be inside them. They are all political targets and are for that reason directly targeted by terrorists with particular political motives tied to those buildings. When AQ blows up the tube in London or trains in Madrid they do that to kill whoever happens to be there, the more the better. I'm sure you can see the difference.

I did say with very few exceptions however. And by that I meant the Atlanta bombings that had no real sane connection to his motives. I'm sure there are more incidents, but they aren't that many.

Sooo.... basically every building is a "political target"? What does that even mean? The people in a federal building aren't innocent? Or neutral? Come on.

One of the bombs possibly located
Nah. The mailbox and tree are on either side of it are untouched. Even if it was directional, which is doubtful, it would have hit one or the other.

I highly doubt whoever built this was using a shaped charge. By definition, if it was in a pressure cooker, it wasn't a directional blast. The whole idea of that is to send shrapnel in every direction. If whoever was doing this had enough expertise to make a shaped charge (which I would imagine is only possible with difficult to attain, specialized explosives), they wouldn't need a pressure cooker for shrapnel. You'd just pack a bunch of metal in the same direction that the blast will go.

What's so hard to understand, seriously? Terrorists who are against abortions go for abortion clinics. Terrorists who are against a certain faith go for the church of that faith. They usually don't go blow up random crowds of people. That's the calling card of AQ who choose those places so they can cause as much destruction as possible. AQ themselves claim this strategy is a very good one.

There, I'm done explaining simple shit to knuckle draggers.

Are you? Well how generous of you.

Yes, the line you are seeking to draw doesn't make sense, especially given your lack of information about why this target was chosen or who committed the bombing. Of course in hindsight you have perfect clarity on why other targets were chosen and who did it. You're not fucking Madame Zim, you just know how to read wikipedia.
