It seems like some other US intelligence agency had some advance warning of the attack, possibly on very short notice, but not the FBI or the local PD.

I know this is only tangentially related to the bombing, but while reading up on it I clicked a link to this website and holy shit look at the headlines:

http://www.wsvn.com/news/main/local/

'suspect arrested after allegedly shooting at police'
'woman shot in neck...'
'heightened security measures...'
'bar owner catches attempted burglars'
'teen held at gunpoint'
'homeless woman severely burned'
'suspicious device found'
'armed men threaten to kill employees'
'no injuries after clothes catch fire...'
'abandoned baby...'
'marathon tragedy...'
'So. Fla. steps up security after Boston bombings'
'terrorism expert described pressure cooker bombs'

That's 13 out of the top 14 headlines. It's amazing people over there can bring themselves to leave the house. I mean I knew your media was messed up, but actually seeing it is something else.

US media thrives on pain and suffering. Its the only product they have, and the only way to sell it properly is with a hard sell.

A journalist's entire career revolves around profiting from the suffering of others. Journalists cheer in newsrooms nation wide when someone puts a bomb somewhere because it means they will get to go wall to wall for the next 48 hours minimum with stories of the horror, tragedy and pain of it all. They specifically seek out family and close friends of people recently injured or killed, to put their horrified reactions on television, and to put their pictures in their newspapers, to draw in viewers, to make a profit. There's very few people lower on the totem pole than American journalists.

I'd rather be locked in a room full of lawyers for 1000 years than spend 1 minute in a room with a journalist.

Got to say that it sure seems like there are a lot of people waiting with bated breath for some middle-aged, white, gun-loving, tax-hating teabagger to be exposed as the culprit for the bombing. I don't understand that as a hope, it seems like a really ugly political position, nor do I see it as likely. I could be wrong but I'd expect a flipped teabagger to either a) hole up in a prepper compound b) attack a gubmint entity. I don't see them placing a pressure cooker in a random crowd of people.

Plus, if this so-called suspect were a teabagger, I would think we would have heard a leak from one over our overly anxious media members, would we not? My vote is this is most likely either a garden variety nutjob or 1 or 2 young muslim operating independently.

I am sure a number of people around the world are hoping the culprits are not from their neck of the woods.

I don't care if it is a white dude like me or a brown guy. My only hope is that the answer is not more retards in TSA blues standing on street corners.
Yeah, but that article isn't saying he hopes it's a white republican type because they hate white republicans (although they probably do, since, Salon and all), but because it will mean less of a backlash for American society at large, which seems like a reasonable guess.

They aren't saying they are guilty, so yeah. It simply says authorities are looking for them.

The FBI is allegedly going to release photos of who they are looking for today. If that's the photo, then yes, of course the NY Post can do whatever they want with it.

Nothing new this morning? Bah, work is slow.

Currently, most of the internet is shouting TEA BAGGER! NO, LIBERAL! back and forth because the ricin guy was such a non-political loony toon that neither side can really pin their wanted label on him. (you can find him supporting/hating on both, likely because he's FUCKING NUTS) Meanwhile, the attack had nothing at all to do with politics but that won't stop the trolls that desperately need everything to be about one side or the other in our divided nation.

EDIT: If they release photos it probably means they have fully ID'd the culprits but they've gone into hiding and can't be traced. It took what, 5 years to catch Rudolph?
