Is there an article there that gives a percentage to the number of teachers that molest their students? Honest question. Because I can only find percentages for students that have experienced sexual abuse. It's hard to compare those statistics
No, I am arguing and the statistics back it up, that more kids are molested by public school teachers than have ever been molested by priests yet we ignore it.
Number of teachers? No. The number of kids, yes it is in those articles and sourced. It breaks down the percentages of what faculty members molest though, teachers, principals, janitors, etc...
I didn't give the Catholic church a pass ever. They are despicable. Or lets step away from lesbians and talk about all women. Their push against birth control and condom use even in places like Africa, even when they are in the midst of an AIDS epidemic.
Or their constant teaching that women are inferior to men, that virgins are sacred and that the loss of virginity was a horrible shame. Maybe we could also touch on their suppressing of science and attempts to shut down research on stem cells.
Or we could talk about their history of teaching that unbaptized babies were going to hell. This resulted in catholic nursemaids or servants baptizing kids (all they had to do was splash some water on their faces) and then the church would come in and STEAL the kids if they were living in a non-catholic home.

I'll defend the Catholic Church on the issue of contraception and homosexuality.
If you don't like it then try to change it. It works. The church is changeable. It's not new or special or specific to any particular issue.
The Faulty Armors really do understand some things about human nature that we do not like to. Social mores have a momentum of their own. No matter how hard you push in the span of a few years (short of revolution, and the unrest which accompanies that), there are some things that take longer to change than any individual human being lives. The church provides a medium for stable social growth. And if it isn't a perfect medium, cry more. It's a pretty good medium. Better than most, maybe there are some which are better.
The fact that participation is voluntary for this generation should speak silent volumes.
If you don't like it then try to change it. It works. The church is changeable. It's not new or special or specific to any particular issue.

As anyone with any education knows, it was thrown together from a variety of sources, with many sources left out arbitrarily. It has had constant additions and it is riddled with mistaken translations, many of which have been used to justify abuse for centuries.
However, don't let me stop you. Random religious people deciding that they can divine truth from all the contradictions in the Bible is what causes so much fucking problems, so I'm not shocked you would jump to it. It seems never to occur to these people that if they were the word of God, they probably wouldn't be so easy to mistranslate.

You need to compare like with like. Is the Church a perfect social system? No. Absolutely no one in the history of ever has claimed that it is. Is there a better social system than our Church system? GOD I HOPE SO, and I am thankful to our Freemason Forefathers for daring to think that there probably is.

But like Communism is the most painful path from Capitalism to Capitalism, I tend to think that Organized Religion is the least painful path from niave ignorance to secularism.

I didn't self appoint myself the only authority. I have done a lot of studies though and nobody else is taking this stance on the forums. Find me another person on the forum that is pro-Bible and has spent any time in seminary or the like. I will wait.
