You know, personal anecdote time since I thought of you the other night Mist. My wife likes Downton Abby, I have to say I enjoy it too for a late-night soap. But in one of the episodes someone said "bastard" in front of the "women" and the head house keeper look liked the person was raping them all. She said "I won't have such vulgar language in front of the maids" (Women). The way she looked I realized she was the version of you had you existed 100 years ago....Where women were delicate flowers that needed to be shielded from bad words and "immoral" gestures--even if those gestures did no physical harm to them or even had the capability to do so (Like those signs--no one is going to force the girls into those houses--and in fact, having those signs offers women the ability to see which men are more vulgar and thus avoid them if that is not their thing.)
