Pardon me for interrupting this intentionally obtuse tangent.
Has it not occurred to anyone that what Mist might mean by "genuine" is a female candidate a woman might actually want to vote for? A woman who shares some values with or has the same concerns as female voters? Mist has repeated at least three times that American women couldn't in good conscious vote for the female candidates they were given because they were terrible candidates regardless of gender. Why, after reading that, would any of you think questioning Mist's use of "genuine" is anything more than pedantic argument about semantics that has nothing to do with what either side is trying to say?

I'll even give you the benefit of the doubt and acknowledge that "genuine" is not the best choice of word. But both the context of the argument and the brain's ability to make connections between established neural paths in order to come to logical conclusions make it pretty fucking clear what she was trying to say. If you want to argue, argue! But this childish garbage is not arguing, it's attempting to force someone to abandon their argument in favor of pointless clarification of minutiae already rendered obsolete by simple logic.

Congratulations on acknowledging how women are human beings who can be different from one another. That's a huge step in the right direction. Now that we understand that people, and by extensionwomen, have other reasons to select a candidate besides "penis" or "vagina", can we stop pretending American women haven't voted for female candidates because women supposedly hate other women?
