I wouldn't say I collect Funko Pops. I own like 6, but I got them cuz I am an Iron Maiden fan and love Eddie.
I don't get the weird collect them all shit though. It is just the new Beanie Baby from when we were younger. They had a big crash in popularity lately. Also at least collecting Funko Pops isn't as gay as those Stanley cup collector whackos.
Dude, there are hate Reddit groups for like every type. It's not just those guys, but it seems a lot of reactors and reviewers on YouTube get weird reddit hate. I have seen hate reddits for streamers, food reactors, tv/movie reviewers, etc. it's crazy, but not as crazy when you realize YouTube commenters are the same kind of dipshits Redditors are.

TOS but they know if they enforced it reddit wouldn't even exist. Reddit used to fold up fast when given legal notice on targeted harassment/bullying. Doubt that's changed much, but few creators care that much. Hatewatchers are views. Mentions are engagement.

I don't understand how the hell you came to that God damn conclusion, when it's nice and warm outside I'm normally barefoot but if I go out fishing if I'm not wearing waders, or mud boots, I'm wearing sandals. You just described my brother , except his glass cases have LED lights inside what are connected to Alexa so he can turn them on by voice, AND he has a wall of light sabers on their own display. These are not the run of the mill lightsabers , oh no, They are custom made ones.

Man, reddit hate subs are some fucking crazy shit. I never really came across that until recently.
I used to watch the Angry Video Game Nerd back in the day and just kind of randomly watched a handful of his videos over the holidays. I was curious about where some of his regular cast members went and I ended up on a hate sub dedicated to him of all people. It's full of people endlessly consuming all his content only to say how awful it is in every possible way and how he's a POS and sellout for not having the same energy and enthusiasm as a mid 40s successful dad that he did when he was a single 26 year old trying to prove himself. I'm pretty sure they devote more energy than his average positive fan.
I really cannot fathom what compels these people. For me, when someone's content gets old or stale, I just stop watching, end of story. The hate sub people should probably be gassed.

I wasn't able to continue this discussion during the day and it seems like it has run its course for the most part. My final thought: It really seems like a weird flex to bag on people for their hobbies or their appearance. No one is "jerking off to Star Wars"; These critics are popular because they gives voice to a large audience of folks tired of seeing their favorite IPs used for ideological purposes and tired of seeing terrible movies and TV produced to further those same agendas, just like folks here are tired of seeing those same ideological agendas in games produce terrible product after terrible product.
I personally would think that one might find common purpose with those who believe similar things, witnessing the same agenda being pushed across multiple genres and hobbies but if some folks think that one's hobbies give some kind of superior status in some perceived social (nerd) hierarchy, so be it. My undergraduate degree is in Sociology, so these questions interest me but to save everyone the page space I won't indulge my lesser angels in this regard.
I like (almost) everyone in this discussion, I like these YouTube guys/channels/content. Others don't. Live and let live.
