I just want to say it's fucking hilarious that this entire thread is pretty much everything BUT Captain African American. How this thread currently is, is all you need to know about this piece of shit movie.

I'd rather watch Thor 2 than ANYTHING in Phase 4+
It really is crazy how they had such a crazy run for over a decade and then just shit. Pixar kind of did the same crap. Pixars last 4 films Moana, Wish, elemental, strange world....

Piss n boots, Transformers one , Willd robot, spider verse on the other hand

wtf you guys talking about they said this is the 35th fucking film? and there's been how many good ones? 5, 6? 15, 20% success rate somehow equals success in hollywood. It's got a track record worse than DCU tbh. Most of the DCU movies were shit but they only made a few of them.

Phase One
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
*Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers

Phase Two
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy

Avengers: Age of Ultron
*Ant-Man

Phase Three
*Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
*Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Captain Marvel
Avengers: Endgame
*Spider-Man: Far From Home

Phase Four
Black Widow
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Eternals
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Thor: Love and Thunder
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Phase Five
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The Marvels
Deadpool & Wolverine
Captain America: Brave New World
Thunderbolts*

Bold I consider ok to good, * means I don't immediately change the channel if it comes on. So I guess its 9 out of 35...25% success rate.

Don't forget there were decades of shitty comic book movies before they actually started making money on them. Before diseny bought marvel it was more miss than hit. It's not like they were brilliant right out of the gate.

People still ignoring Thor 2 as worst MCU movie (although I haven't seen Thor 4)?
Thor 2 was pretty bad. And Eternals wasn't any better. Aside from that, even the bad ones have "something" that make them somewhat enjoyable.

looks like this trash will hit $90-95m this 4 day weekend, but i'd expect the numbers to crash next week. who knows how much money it needs to make a profit or if it even matters, i don't really believe the $180m budget (which would imply a $500-600m worldwide box office to be... in the black)

Iron suits didn't exist before metropolis?

I think there's about 1000 years worth of them predating that.

My dad took me to see a big exhibit at one of the museums here in Houston may be back when I was around 10 years old. It was this massive exhibit of arms and armor from Europe, and I just had hundreds upon hundreds of different suits of plate and all kinds of swords and what have you.

I've gone to museums quite a bit just because I enjoy it, but to this day it still is one of the best experiences I've had at one. Maybe it was because I was a kid but it was a pretty amazing display. I don't know where it came out of or don't remember, but I think it was supposed to be the biggest collection out there.

The shits just cool. Maybe one day in the far future my Guinness armor will be displayed in a museum. This would be after the downfall of civilization mind you.

Is that including all the rushed advertising to try and get people out to see it?

Yeah not gonna watch low effort clickbait slop calling this dumpster fire "Marvel's rock bottom" because no matter how bad this movie is there's no way it's worse than Antman 3 or Madame Web.

Bullshit. Madame Web was best comedy in years

The only thing Captain America: The Worst Avenger is good for is a sleep aid.

Saw it today with the family and some friends, it was alright. It's not the best Cap movie (I have a soft spot for 1 but I can recognize Winter Soldier as superior by far and it remains the best Cap movie) but it was okay. I'm really not a fan of Mackie's acting and attitude in the MCU even outside of his political bullshit in interviews, but the film was fine. It gives a feeling that the MCU is recentering its efforts on established characters (bringing back several characters from Incredible Hulk, stuff from previous Cap films, etc) instead of reaching out into new dumb directions. It wasn't oulandishly woke either, I didn't really feel the racism card was being played (unlike in the TV series where Falcon couldn't even get a loan because black). Action scenes were pretty decent.

For those interested, there's just one post-credits scene and it's at the very end. It's not something major, you don't see any new character introduced or anything, it just mentions stuff that's going to go down in the near future of the MCU.

For those wondering if they can easily skip it and not really miss important story steps for the MCU as a whole, it's totally skippable, the story is rather self-contained.
