The comics are retarded. A shield or a really spiffy suit isn't going to give you the strength of a hundred men. Not with out some massive Gundam exoskeleton. Iron man's Hulk buster suit or Batman and his Superman armor worked temporarily. But some form fitting costume and a shield made out of the same material isn't going to do anything except get bounced around by a massively strong opponent. I'm not going to let this go. We allow Black Widow to knock out 250 pound goons in one kick, because she's super hot in her skin tight catsuit and we like to see her in action. But dudes gotta make it at least feasible.
Well, Gamma Radiation or whatever else they use to make Hulks also doesn't do that. Realistically *cough*, both Banner and Harrison Ford and all other Hulk-related characters are just guys with a lethal case of radiation poisoning and lots of cancer. Pretty sure most people could beat them even with a plastic Cap Shield replica 🤷‍♂️

Tony Stark “nano” suits are retarded. How much does an iron man suit weigh? That is how much weight in nano bots he would be carrying in brief case or, even more retarded, in a little compartment on his chest. If he can easily make complex nano suits why isn’t every top agent in shield armed with a suit? Tony was able to make 50odd iron man suits for iron man 3… ahem, sorry…

If the movies are good enough you hand wave some of these issues away, it’s okay because you are having fun. The last few crops of movies have not been fun so nothing is getting waved off, it’s suckatude multiplied by sucktacularity.

I mean, Endgame is often considered among the better MCU movies. But if you poke at that time travel stuff ... it comes apart real fast, lol.

quantumania ended up with $214m domestic and $463m worldwide.
in its 2nd weekend had a 70% drop

this weekend seems to only have the monkey in wide release which predicted to do 18-20m, so falcon might do better.

I'm not claiming it's consistent or makes the most sense, but I understood all of the fallout from Ultron and Sokovia to be Stark refusing to make extra suits to limit any proliferation. Yes, he makes a suit for Spidey but that's more like Meta Ray Bans on an already S-Tier super.

In any case you can't logic the shield or any suit with our physics. Why does the shield bounce off some things and penetrate others? It's almost best to just think of it similar to Strange's cape; a semi sentient artifact that is in tune with the wearer and acts as necessary given the situation.

It's a comic book. You need to keep that in mind. Nothing relating to momentum or inertia or physics ever matters in a comic book.

Let's take Wolverine instead. Sure, his skeleton can stand up to the Hulk, but he would still get flung miles into the distance after one punch. And oh yeah, all of his skin and organs would stay there (liquified, probably) while his skeleton was flying away. Then you gotta question which one regenerates, the skeleton with scraps on it, or the sack of organs with no adamantium?
I admit, some of that stuff you have to give it a pass. But what's the point of Steve Rogers being a super soldier with massive physical abilities when you can just put on a bullshit suit and be just like him?

In the comics Cap is nowhere near as strong as he is portrayed in the MCU. He's at "peak human levels" he's not supernaturally strong and his rogue gallery is filled with mostly normal chuds. Captain America's real strength is that he's a very skilled tactician, one of the top 10 best fighters, and is pretty much the best leader type in Marvel. As for the bullshit suit: vibranium grants unusual properties, allowing it to absorb all of the kinetic impact and vibrations from any blows that the shield receives without injuring Rogers in the process. Now Falcon has a suit made of that same material and the ability to redirect the stored up energy like BP did.

For comic book logic that is about as good as you're going to get and has the exact same issues and reasoning as the Iron Man or BP suit would have and nobody really complained. Problem is it's a bad movie and so doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

I found it to be a paint by numbers DEI movie. White man bad. Black man good. Latino/Israeli lil woman is a girlboss despite being 4'11". Strong black woman guarding/advising the bad white man. Not sure , never explained why there was a new hulk and why he was red but it's a movie. Won't watch again but I didn't feel like I wasted 2 hours of my life. Very very mid.
really glad I didn't spend any $$ on it.

I just finished watching this. All the hate, I don't get it. It wasn't a bad movie. Date I say actually pretty good. Sure, it wasn't as good as done other ones, but it was a hell of a lot better than the first Cap. They tried to make it regular person, but it was more super soldier. He had endless energy, and just because falcon rockets are pushing you forward, your arms still aren't stronger than other people's. But that aside, it was still entertaining.

In the comics they cover this issue with both Wolverine and Deadpool. The healing factor is located in the right hemisphere of the brain. Which is why an adamantium bullet to the right side of Logan's head will kill him. So, in your example the skeleton with scraps would regenerate. Same for Deadpool, that's why if Deadpool would to be...say cut in half directly down the center of his body. The left side would die and rot but the right side would regenerate. Instead of there now being 2 Deadpools.

You've bought steelbooks of this whole misbegotten mess or close to it, your judgment is suspect at best.

Nah, lots of people like to nitpick even really good movies - liking the movie makes you care enough to argue about stupid shit, really bad movies aren't usually worth the effort.

It is just some arguments are so dumb they aren't even worth engaging with - like 'Superman can't fly ! Flying is impossible !'

By attempting to rebut this argument, you have gone down to that level, and already lost.

Well now I want to see a comic where Hulk punches Wolverine so hard that his brain squirts out of his nose and he regenerates without the skeleton, and he has to figure out how to have someone jam his brain back into the adamantium skull.

Funny you should mention going broke for the sake of woke
On these here forums I have seen people rail against Disney, Bud light, Target and others, but have not heard a peep about a Costco Boycott or even blow back against them for not only having a DEI program but doubling down and rejecting any efforts to expunge it from their corporate structure.

Just find it funny the picking and choosing of who gets the "go broke" treatment.

Oh and to keep this post on topic

Captain African American: The brave and the bold sucks!

Also, coming soon

Do you want everyone to update you every time they stop going to a woke place? I just don’t feel the need to shout to everyone what I’m doing. It’s fine if there’s a conversation about it but I’m not going to randomly tell people.
